There is something about this song that is so special for me... you know when the world is falling apart, everything is going wrong, and you don't feel like yourself anymore? This song has saved me so many times. I know that to most people it's about a relationship finally coming to an end, but to me it's about kindness. It's about letting go all the inner voices in your head, all your ghosts, telling you that you are not worth it, that something is wrong about you, that you are wrong. Dear reader, always remember that if you are strong enough to let it in, you are also strong enough to let it all go. No one should endure what you had to, be kind to yourself, and always remember that you are not alone through this. Be kind to yourself

I remembered the days that I kept crying with this song. I told myself that I must let go of any remaining hopes for a non-existent relationship. I had thought that I was a failure for not being able to give up on fighting alone. Then, today, my heart no longer feels burden when listening to this song. Still, the pain was there, the struggle, and plenty of endless nights of self-blaming. Dear all who are going through something similar, you are strong and brave. We do not need to kill our love for someone to forget them. One day, you will be alight ❤❤❤

This might not be the right place to share such personal details, but I want to tell someone about what this songs means to me... On August 4th I got hospitalized with severe depression and I was there for 3 months. Those 3 months have been the hardest in my entire life and I can honestly say that did not think I would survive it. I have lost count of all the times I tried to kill myself. I just wanted to get out. I did not want to live anymore. I had convinced myself that life was not for me. This song described everything I felt at the time. I know this was most likely not the meaning behind it, but to me it was about coming to terms with the fact that your life is ending. Right before I tried to commit suicide for the first time I was listening to this and the words "Morning has come and I have to go." resonated with me. This was something I had to do. I know it's probably hard to understand and some of you might see it as a bad thing. As if this song made me want to commit suicide. But that was not the case. I was very sick. I know that now. However, I really needed someone to understand what I was feeling, but no one could. I felt so alone. Which is why this song was such a comfort and relief to listen to. It took a lot of courage to try and kill myself. Those who say that it's the easy way out really do not understand what it's like. Between living and dying, dying was the lesser of the two evils. I was not an idiot. I knew what this was doing to my family and I felt awful. I hated myself. I felt selfish for wanting to end it, but at the same time I felt selfish for staying and causing so much pain to those around me. I was a burden to everyone. Birdy and Rhodes sing "But if we're strong enough to let it in, we're strong enough to let it go." I had to be strong enough to let go of everything and end my life... But I'm still here. At the time I did honestly not believe I could ever get better, but I did. I'm still fighting with these thoughts, but I no longer believe that I'm meant to die. I want to live - for my family and friends most of all. I still listen to this song, and when I do a lot of those feelings come back, but not in a bad way. It's a reminder of where I was, but also of where I am now. I'm not in that dark place anymore. Thank you to those of you who took the time to read this. It helped a lot putting all these thoughts and feelings into words.

I strongly believe that we need more people suffering from depression to speak out and share their experiences. This would not only serve as encouragement for others in the same situation, but also help lift the stigma surrounding this misunderstood illness. And this song really resonates w me too.

The past three years have been the toughest time I've had to face as an adult... After losing my job, my apartment, my car, my mentor(who was like a father to me) and now my best friend, it felt like I had nothing left. BUT, I still have a mother who took me back in and has been helping me get back up after falling down and that's when I realised: I'm still blessed, many have had to endure similar situations alone, yet I have an extraordinary mom, loving caring and strong... And even when I was at my lowest, she didn't see me as a failure. There is always something to live for, we just have to spot the little light flickering in the distance and then keep our eyes fixed on that tiny beacon of hope until we've escaped the darkness. No matter how dark the night, the sun comes up every day to shine upon us once more. This too shall pass, eventually.

Let It All Go Lyrics [Verse 1: Birdy] I've been sleepless at night Cause I don't know how I feel I've been waiting on you Just to say something real There's a light on the road and I think you know Morning has come and I have to go [Pre-Chorus: Birdy] I don't know why, I don't know why We need to break so hard I don't know why we break so hard [Chorus: Birdy and Rhodes] But if we're strong enough to let it in (in, in) We're strong enough to let it go Let it all go, let it all go Let it all out now [Verse 2: Rhodes] If I look back to the start, now I know I see everything true There's still a fire in my heart, my darling But I'm not burning for you We've started it wrong and I think you know We waited too long, now I have to go [Pre-Chorus: Birdy and Rhodes] I don't know why, I don't know why We need to break so hard I don't know why we break so hard [Chorus: Birdy and Rhodes] But if we're strong enough to let it in (in, in) We're strong enough to let it go Let it all go, let it all go Let it all out now Let it all go, let it all go Let it all out now [Breakdown: Birdy and Rhodes] Who says? Who says? Who says? Who says? [Bridge: Birdy] Who says truth is, beauty after all And who says love should break us when we fall [Chorus: Birdy and Rhodes] But if we're strong enough to let it in (in, in) We're strong enough to let it go Let it all go, let it all go Let it all out now Let it all go, let it all go Let it all out now We're strong enough to let it go

This song means a lot to me. I was struggling with depression when I met a beautiful boy filled with life. We spent some beautiful time together. I would feel an insane rush when he was around. For first time in long, long time, I could be vulnerable with someone, and felt extremely connected. But turned out, he wasn’t looking for a relationship, or even the friendship we had. I had extremely attached to him, but he started ghosting me and drifted away. It’s been more than three years, and some nights when I have depressive episodes, I still have dreams of him. But then I listen to this song and make myself realise that he will never love me the way I do and that “truth is beauty after all”. And I am strong enough to let it all go.

If we can let love into our heart, we must be strong enough to carry on without that person in our life... it may take years.......but they gave us love.... and we carry that with us forward....it is always in our hearts as a fire within....forever ours. I heard this song for the first time when I was leaving my country, my family, my friends and my life to make a living. In the Journey, I couldnt stop crying and listening to this song on and on. That's a memory I will never forget. Thanks Rhodes and Birdy for make me stronger and fearless and for making beautiful and touching music to the world.

Delia you know it’s a beautiful song when it’s so underrated! Annoying songs get all the fame, disappointing but just shows there’s songs like this and underrated or not it’s much more enjoyable listening to beautiful music than these days crap, I’ll always support the beautiful music more than the hectic music that’s out these days... Cèline Dion, London Grammar, Birdy, Dido, Pearl Jam, Nickelback, Ed Sheeran are all my taste, this song is perfect!
@LeaVionne6 жыл бұрын
Jack Wright I agree with you, and I think songs that are meaningful tends to be founded by ourselves. I listens to Kodaline, Birdy, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Sleeping At Last and Harry Styles. For though harry styles is not underrated, I think his music are great and under appreciated (comparing to the sales and streams with the top 100 hot charts songs at the moment). I loved Ed's first and second album but I have to say his music isn't that great lately and I lose the hype I used to have with him, though theres no denial of how incredible he is as a songwriter, musician and a singer. I hope this kind of songs will appear on the radio more than crappy EDM and rap songs. Its getting annoying now

I just had a baby girl who was admitted to the ICU very unexpectedly, I had to hold it all together 99% of the time to get through the day but listening to this in the quiet of my room gave me a chance to just let go and cry when I needed to. I'm sure that isn't at all what the song is about but it gave me an outlet when I needed it
