How wonderful!!!!! To have such a natural gift (physical)and then to be one of the truly greatest singers and technicians ever, and also to have her magnificent sense of humor!!!!! I miss her!!!!

She was equally famous for her wit, humour and humility in Sweden as for her singing. She found her way all to the 500 crown bills, imagine...! We had another great singer, an alt, Zarah Leander, who was a few years older than Birgit Nilsson and her idol when she was young. There is a clip on youtube with the two superstars singing together in a TV-couch, "If you wanna see a star - just look at me!". No competition, Birgit Nilsson didn´t even try to beat her elder sister, it´s quit lovely to watch. It´s in Swedish though, I´m afraid.

KenKen3593 I am sure she would have been a great comedian! She had, besides her incredible marvalous singing many talents! She really was a classy lady yet so humorous! She really was unique! I have been loving her voice and her incredible singing since I was a little 10 year old schoolboy!

KenKen3593 She was always full of humor and cheer. I met her once and it was my birthday. She squealed with delight and signed her autograph with a great big flourish and many happy birthdays. She was delightful.
