I have a pair of Birkenstock Arizona Suede that I purchased in 1993 and that I still wear. I've had the sole & footbed replaced over the years, but the straps are all original & look great! I have a pair of Mayari's in Birko-flor that I love as well.

Birkenstocks are great if you're willing to get through the (often painful) break-in process. Blisters and hot spots aren't uncommon as you break in the cork. I like the Mayari, it might be targeted more towards women, but it can look good on men, too.

I love wearing Birkenstocks. I have the Arizona (Black) and Gizeh (Tobacco Brown) in Size 41. Wearing them with barefeet is best sensation/feeling! The Mayari looks amazing also!!

I’m a US 7 (women’s) I bought 2 pairs. 1 in 36 and the other in 37 I found 36 fit better even if my toe touches the end of the shoe 37 felt like I’m wearing boats and they’re drooping off my foot etc. Plus I noticed in both pairs of shoes 1 is usually a bit looser overall So yeah, I agree I find it better 1 size down in this model. Just more snug and don’t feel like I’m walking around in loose boat sandals.

I went into a shoe store recently and they had the Mayari in my size 41. I tried them on and was very impressed how great they felt on my feet and looked in the mirror. I bought them!! 😍 😀

Wow they're much more expensive than in Europe. I bought these for € 50 on sale, normally around 60-80 depending on the store. Which is around 88 dollars max. I now have black Arizona's and these Mayari's, I only wear my Arizona's around the house, but it's so comfortable.

I think a guy could pull these off definitely. And the sandals are still holding up great! Although to be honest i dont think she has worn them much over the winter being that its freezing cold outside lol.

These are unisex and remind me a lot of the "Jesus sandals." I think for guys, probably go with black or brown uppers.

The oil from your feet creates like an outline in them of your foot if thats what you mean. It’s a necessary evil so that it breaks in and conforms to your feet.

Definitely not worth it for functionality. For the brand, I guess some people are ok with it. Cork footbed sandals can be easily and cheaply made. As if China cannot make them at the fraction of the price. China can send a probe to Mars, even Germany can’t do that. I am not some CCP troll. I call a spade , a spade. These cork sandals are plenty and cheap in Asia. Some are even better than Birkenstocks.

The Chinese can copy anything. The questions are: Are they as comfortable? Do they contain harmful chemicals banned in Europe? How long do they last? There are very good Chinese products, though when it's something in constant contact with my skin, I'd rather not take any risk.
