When i see how much hand work they have combined with technology that requires investment I think they are giving value for money. I only have one pair, initially i didn’t want them because i thougt they were ugly, but now i feel them so comfortable that i can’t stop using them.

A fantastic piece detailing the building of my favorite sandal. I just resoled two pair of Birkenstocks and it was quite easy but it gives you a great view of the construction of these works of art. Heat and pressure is the creative element of these beautiful shoes. I’m always shocked when I view a video of someone sanding the soles off when a heatbed or heat gun does the job quickly. Keep building a great product Birkenstock !

Always wear Birkenstock sandals especially after work or in my spare time. Have the Cairo, and the Milano. In summer without socks, in winter in dry weather Milanos with woolen socks are great.

I got my arizonas in 2018, I think. They cost 80€ back then, now the same pair is 120€. I understand that inflation, rising supply costs and all are doing it’s thing, but it feels like a steep increase. My family has been wearing Birkenstocks for decades but with the new image and the rise of plastic being used instead of leather we don’t really fit their demographic anymore, unfortunately.

More than anything else its the marketing‘s approach to make this become a luxury product. We should not buy it for 2 years and wait what effect,this has on pricing. However! It would require 50+ % of us to act like this.

Good riddance. We true supporters are willing to pay living wages in a highly developed, non-offshore manufacturing supply chain for quality, comfort, and most importantly health. We invest in our producers by putting our money where our mouth (and feet) is, and gleefully say hello to each new replacement of our longtime loved product lines. Albeit worth no more than a minute’s effort no doubt, your efforts would have been better placed voting as a shareholder activist to keep it locally produced. Also, no proof of cutting ties with local traders.

After more than 50 years loyal I am no more. Birkenstock appears to be flooding KZbin with promotional videos. I always kept a pair of the London product. Long lasting, always comfortable and a statement I was proud to make. After 1 year the leather upper began to separate with an odd thin top layer I’d never witnessed before. I contacted Birkenstock and they gave me a line about how some products last longer depending on their use. I always took very good care of my shoes so they last. If the sole wore out it was simply replaced but the upper now? It’s sad. Very sad.

While I admire the process of making them and the story behind Birkenstock, but my God! They fûƆķíňG hurt wearing them! Both my feet's arches were swollen and numb after a day of wearing them. I bought two pairs on different years because I really want to love them, but my experiences were frustratingly bad. I finally researched on it and they say it may take a week to break them in. But no, for me it hurts weeks after weeks so I finally gave them up. Sorry Birkenstock.
