First let me say that this bag is absolutely stunning, with a perfect color combo. I must also say that I've got such high anxiety watching your process of how you baby and care for this bag lol. I believe bags should be enjoyed and worn without all the stress and complications to keep it in pristine condition. On the flip side I do understand that these bags are super expensive and hard to get especially from the boutique. I cant wait to get my first Birkin, but this is proof that I must go the preloved route because I don't baby my handbags and I love when Birkin's have that slouchy worn look. The preloved price on large sizes like 35s and 40s are reasonable and if I know that the bag has already been used and has had a life before me and maybe has a few scuffs and scratches I wouldn't care about being this extremely careful .

Hi Bryce! Thanks for watching🫡❤️, you wanna know what’s crazy though?? before I got Hermes bags I thought the same as you, and figured I wouldn’t bother with the work of keeping them pristine. But after actually getting one I found that the super high quality of the bag didn’t make it too delicate to enjoy but rather it made it tough enough to enjoy freely while keeping it in excellent condition! It was much easier than I’d anticipated to keep the bag in pristine condition despite use, and so I do! The beat-up/vintage look is definitely a vibe, just not my vibe! 🤭😄 I get the appeal of resell but I’d suggest giving a store-fresh bag a chance and then aging it yourself! scuffs and marks on any bag are more personal when their origins are your memories! 🫶🏾😚😚😚

holy cow, you bag your bag when you put go through security? I guess to each his own. I am not as delicate on mine. I just shove my bag wherever it needs to be, be it on a conveyor belt or overhead bid...and i have yet to see scratches on them. Hardware is a given, but as long as i don't drag it on pavement, still looks good as new. I have both togo and clemence and it's as durable as rubber tires. Gorgeous bag btw.

Thanks for watching!! 🤭 I suppose it’s all about what you’re willing to put up with, eg: I’d never be ok with passing my bag’s leather against any surface really 😂😂 even my own moisturized skin if I can help it. The bags will age yes, but I’d rather that they were aged by time and not by TSA or overhead lockers 😵‍💫😩

Wrapped in plastic in the box is not the way to go. The leather needs to breath. The glazing is going to start melting. Good luck. And with those twilies on, soon enough your handles color will no longer match the rest of the bag. Just sharing some food for thought from someone who has a few.

Hi Mona! Thanks for your question, it’s definitely in the dust bag at all times during the flight, but the how all depends on the circumstances, if I can take up a whole overhead locker for my bag then I’m happy to do so, I always store it base first, handles last with the hardware facing up! But if the flight is full and there’s sharing of lockers I will reluctantly place the bag at my feet with the hardware facing up! 😄📝

Hiii lawr17 and thanks soo much for watching! So I think the confusion you’re experiencing here is coming from your combining up two separate groups into the general basket of “other travelers”. So firstly, group 1 as far as my sensitivity for being obnoxious is concerned, is in respect to airport service workers (particularly security) these people who are at work shouldn’t have to be burdened by looking after my bag any differently than they would anyone else’s, I find it unbecoming to make a scene over a handbag with a line of people in security, so I make an effort to avoid the likely hiccups. Now group 2 “the girls” which is itself a reference from black lexicon meaning, a subset of a present population set distinguished by like traits to the narrator, in this case my referring to other hermès or high fashion enthusiasts, who are strangers quite rightly, but many of whom till the present day have struck up conversation with me with my bag as the anchor point 😁. To conclude, I certainly can understand how from an observer’s point of view enthusiasm for expensive things may appear to be for the sake of signaling status but for many people myself included, that is simply a side effect to a hobby I am lucky to have access to, I hope this helps you see where I was coming from, I’ve found that most people who’ve seen this video already have ❤️

@@TiwaDidThat Oh no confusion here and no explanation needed. Question though, where do you set the bag organizer while you're dust bagging your Birkin? I assume your other luggage, since you probably don't want the organizer touching anything dirty/the floor as well. And you must travel at some non-crowded airports, because I will still have people bumping up against me in first class or pre-check lines. Cheers!

So I typically take the dust bag out and bag the bag before removing the insert, which I place directly into the basket/tray, as far as crowding I rarely if ever have suffered physical contact from strangers for lack of space in the queue no matter what class I fly, and as long as I’m brisk and well practiced in my process for preparing the bag for the scanner ppl behind me don’t seem to mind😅 but I suppose it’s case by case, nevertheless I’ll cross my fingers to avoid such a scenario 😬😵‍💫
