Simple analogy Torque = Elephant | Power = Horse (hence the name horse power). Elephant can pull things heavy but can't run like a horse. Horse can run faster but cannot pull like an elephant. In real life example, when there is a drag race between a high torque low bhp vehicle vehicle vs high bhp low torque vehicle in a linear track without any obstacles. The high torque vehicle would have the initial lead, but eventually the high bhp vehicle will overtake high torque vehicle after reaching a certain speed. high bhp low torque vehicle would be better suitable for countries like USA. high torque low bhp vehicle vehicle is much suitable for road conditions in India as well as hilly terrains.

​@@inpursuitofhappiness366 I disagree. Torque measured in NM but Power measured in HP or KW. Not necessary to confuse each other. Coming to petrol engine it is a spark ignition type. But diesel Engine is compression ignition type and so diesel Engine stroke is bigger and so more torque and quite natural you will get more power while converting the torque energy to power. 😂😂😂 (I am not sure whether you can understand this or not but this is the fact). Also I agree with the Birlas Parvai explanation. Very well explained.

@@ponssap I didn't get into the technical part of it, rather the end result What are you disagreeing with exactly, in terms of end result? My point is how turbo engines can be more efficient than NA ones. Mostly because you get enough power extracted between 2 to 3k rpm itself Ever heard of S cross 1.6 320. Its massive torque made it potentially faster at lower rpms than even petrol cars with higher bhp

To put it simple Torque is like a jeep travelling in first gear on a muddy or off roads where it needs more torque to push itself from one place to other but power is not much needed. But power mostly needed in car that travels in flat road as it requires high speed.

Sir eppavum Hyundai or Maruti engine tha pesuvapla ..avar kannuku mathathellam theriyathu paavam . Vw , Skoda , Nexon,xuv300 (higher in segment) torque is way more than intha hyundai or Maruti ... Athellam sir ku example ku kooda solla vaai varathu paavam . Great 👍

Sir to answer your question diesel density is more when compared to petrol this more blast created as it releases more energy on the pistons this produces high torque. That is the main reason trucks, lorries, bus and other heavy duty vehicles still runs on diesel to take and pull heavy loads on any type of roads. That's why even in hills diesel vehicles climb with torque power itself and requires less acceleration. Diesel engines are very useful when it comes to torque play because of its high energy release on the pistons.

Petrol fuel combusts rapidly creating surge of power...torque comes at high rpm and power comes from low rpms Diesel fuel is dense and compression ratio is high, it self ignites and creates a more powerful explosion...this explosion creates a poweful force than pushes cylinder down with that force to create low end torque Diesel engines are efficient only when a turbo charger is used...while petrol engines are good both with and without turbo chargers

முற்றிலும் தவறான எடுத்துக்காட்டு for torque. Torque அதிகமா இருந்தா சிக்னல் ல வேகமா போகும் னு சொல்லுறீங்க, லாரிக்கு லாம் torque 450nm kum அதிகமா இருக்கும் but சிக்னல் நின்னு போகுது 100nm torque இருக்குற car வேகமா போகுமா இல்ல லாரி வேகமா போகுமா. Torque என்றால் pulling power அவ்வளவு தான். For exmaple- 100nm torque உள்ள என்ஜின் 2000kg ah pull பண்ண முடியும் ஆனால் 5000kg pull பண்ண முடியது, அதுபோல 500nm torque கொண்ட லாரி 15டன் load easy ah pull பண்ணும்.

ஒரே அளவு லோட் இருந்தால் அதிக டார்க் உள்ள வண்டி தான் அதிக குதிரை சக்தி உள்ள வண்டியை விட முதலில் முந்திச் செல்லும். இது வீடியோவில் தெளிவாக வரவில்லை!
