I'm just seeing this video in 2022. I left Bham in 1995 and now live in New York. I remember Dr Carl Chinn from when I was a kid. He's a great Brummie historian! I've been back to Brum about 8 times since 1995 and everytime I return, I'm shocked at all the changes. I used to live in Edgbaston, near Cannon Hill Park (one of my favourite places in the world). What shocks and disturbs me the most, is the amount of homeless people in the City Centre. What happened??

Miss the old Birmingham, I understand about progress, nowadays it looks too polished for me.

It feels like only yesterday, yet looking at it is a mixture of both modern familiarity and a distant world.

How lovely to see Mac Cooper from AMRTM. Sadly missed from the transport scene in Birmingham. I hope he is resting in peace.

Love the info and i do miss the older Birmingham, especially the 80s and 90s era. The commentator your guide seems a bit too excited though. Otherwise good vid

Why have I just spent ages watching people make buttons and thimble's ? Better than Brxit and the Markle I suppose , I keep looking for the history of Guildhall Buildings , Navigation St ...and am wondering when the old hotel was demolished to make New St Station bigger .
