I was very sad this day as I have lived here 8 years I took a walk this day I walked 2 minutes from my house to go shops only to be asked by their security if I was lost I kindly told them im not lost I live here but it still hurt to be asked if I'm lost because my face doesn't fit with their celebrations yet when I went home I put the radio on to find out what was going on down there to hear them saying all are welcome I was shocked I thought well that was a lie I only tried to go to my local shops and was asked if I was lost im still upset now its like I can't go shops now on these days incase some rude person asks me if I'm lost just because I'm not their skin colour is what I call racist and I was asked if I was lost by many even though I only walked down the road yet they said all was welcome when we used to have Handsworth park carnivals no one was asked if they was lost all was welcome cos all live in the area and those who didnt live in the area was also welcome regardless of colour or beliefs or religion no one was ever asked if they was lost unless it was a child on its own once again this is exactly why I was disappointed as well as upset it made me feel like I no longer fit into a community even though I live here please resolve this issue of asking people if they are lost just because our faces don't fit with the crown there are plenty other shades of people that live here in smethwick and we should be respected while we love here I will never support these events again ever I will not be even bothering to go shops on the days of these celebrations why go places your not welcomed in even though we love here 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 very disheartening
