you're a beautiful man, Walter Lewin. A generous, impeccable, brilliant and creative educator to the masses. I can't think of anything nicer to say about a person.

Sir you've made this lecture so nicely , and I like that Doppler effect example you gave.. physics is not a theoretical subject but a imagination & feel of phenomenon of nature... no one explained it like this to me but now my concepts are becoming clear because of you...🙏🏻I don't have words to thank your great hardwork for us ❤️❤️

It'd be cool to see this in every language. Have you ever thought of producing a sort of 'Cosmos'-for-the-serious-enthusiast type of animation that could transcend language if only by a little bit?

Sir i am a 11th standard student and i am really interested in astrophysics/astronomy. What are the courses i have to complete in order to become an astronomer?

Hello, prof. Lewin. I'd like to know your opinion on the book "Fundamentals of Physics" by David Halliday, Robert Resnick and Jearl Walker. I haven't seen that you recommend it in your MIT OCW videos. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions on it. Thanks.

It's Ok, but I prefer to use another book

Thank you for the reply. Would you please recommend me a decent book that you prefer? I'm studying electrical engineering and I want to improve my physics knowledge because I love almost every aspect of Physics and I'm curious and eager to learn, especially after watching your great lectures!

any physics college book would be fine, that includes Halliday. I used Ohanian.

Professor, when a mass attract another mass what do they(the two masses) loose? Like when we light up a bulb using a battery, the battery looses its energy.

@@lecturesbywalterlewin.they9259 I am not sure but is it because the molten lava exerts pressure counter that of gravity? Am I correct?
@Pavan_Gaonkar_abc2 жыл бұрын
@@pranjalprashant9565 similar to that actually... There is an internal pressure which in fact tries to expand the stars for example if you take sun then the fusion occurs only at its centre. So that energy exerts an outside pressure and since there is a gravity that maintains the stability of for example our sun when the pressure became higher then there comes a point when the star's gravity couldn't hold the pressure hence the star will expand that we call as red gaints(only for masses less then chandrashekar limit) in the case of our sun that occurs nearly after 4.5 million year from now...

Sir will you make a video about the black hole which was pictured. I think it would be spectacular, plus no one did a video about it in detail. Why it looks like this? Why did we pay millions of dollars for a picture of a black hole? I think it would be nice to make a video answering these questions. Thank you
@@lecturesbywalterlewin.they9259 of course sir I agree but what is this knowledge. It may be nice to make such a video, but it is your decision at the end. However if you'll not do such a video can you tell me what are the knowledge that we got. Thank you
