How did the Earth evolve to support life.
Our planet now supports a huge diversity of living creatures requiring very special conditions, but what was the series of events that brought this unique set of conditions together? What did it take to make a world that would support human life? Naked Science takes an imaginary ‘human’ time traveller on a journey back to the moment of formation of our solar system. We meet the scientists who are carrying out their own detective work, uncovering the clues around the world today into what our planet was like 4 and a half billion years ago.
Our journey begins with the astonishing story of how a giant cloud of interstellar dust and gas collapsed to form the sun and planets. We discover that the intense heat of the early Earth created a molten iron core. This generated a magnetic shield around our planet that protects us, to this day, from the sun’s deadliest particles.
Many of the features we take for granted on our living planet were forged in the most violent event in our planet’s history. Early in its life, the Earth collided with another planet. Planetary Scientist Robin Canup has modelled the impact using supercomputers. She reveals that the resulting fireball was so energetic it melted the Earth and created the moon. This dramatic impact gave us our tides and seasons.
We wouldn’t have life today without water. But where our water came from is a mystery that has long puzzled scientists. At a NASA research laboratory, Michael Zolensky studies a recently discovered meteorite that supports the view that water came from space.
For the first half of its history the Earth had an atmosphere of methane and carbon dioxide we would find impossible to breathe. One clue as to how the earth acquired its oxygen can be found in Australia. Shark Bay in Western Australia is home to strange bacterial mounds called stromatolites. The bacteria in these objects are pumping out oxygen. A few hundred miles away geologist Martin Van Kranendonk shows us a fossil stromatolite, the world’s oldest fossil. The evidence suggests that these strange objects are responsible for creating the air we breathe.

Gravity AND ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy are linked AND BALANCED opposites ON BALANCE. Consider TIME AND time dilation ON BALANCE. Great. GRAVITY AND TWO DIMENSIONAL SPACE ARE CONSISTENT WITH E=MC2: E=MC2 is taken directly from F=ma. TIME is NECESSARILY possible/potential AND actual ON/IN BALANCE. The TRANSLUCENT blue sky is manifest as (or consistent with/as) what is BALANCED BODILY/VISUAL EXPERIENCE. Accordingly, ON BALANCE, the TRANSLUCENT blue sky is true/real QUANTUM GRAVITY. THINK!!! ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is CLEARLY AND NECESSARILY proven to be gravity (ON/IN BALANCE). Accordingly, ON BALANCE, the rotation of WHAT IS THE MOON matches it's revolution. Importantly, what is gravity cannot be shielded (or blocked) ON BALANCE. Great. You didn't forget to consider what is the orange AND setting Sun ON BALANCE, did you!!? Magnificent. I have FUNDAMENTALLY and truly revolutionized physics. (Lava is orange, AND it is even blood red.) GREAT !!!! Obviously, carefully and CLEARLY consider what is THE EYE ON BALANCE, as it ALL CLEARLY makes perfect sense ON BALANCE. (BALANCE AND completeness go hand in hand.). Fantastic !!! A few Qs: 1. I struggle with how water was brought by comets. Why not Earths chemistry? Basic chemistry tells us acids & bases combine to form water & salt. 2. When you leave rain water in a bowl, after time, algae forms. So why isn’t this the same for life to form? Except on a larger scale, a larger bowl, of course. 3. Why do Americans say “labratory” when it’s pronounced & spelt, “labORatory?” It’s weird & I’m OK with it but I’m curious. I really enjoy these documentaries, they’re like an art room for my mind to play in. Cheers, from Australia

@@itsallaboutanime4322 THE ULTIMATE (AND CLEAR) MATHEMATICAL UNIFICATION (AND PROOF) REGARDING PHYSICS/PHYSICAL EXPERIENCE IS NOW DEMONSTRATED, AS E=MC2 IS F=MA: TIME DILATION ultimately proves (ON BALANCE) that E=mc2 IS F=ma, as ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. This NECESSARILY represents, INVOLVES, AND DESCRIBES what is possible/potential AND actual IN BALANCE. (Importantly, balance and completeness go hand in hand.) The stars AND PLANETS are POINTS in the night sky. NOW, A PHOTON may be placed at the center of WHAT IS THE SUN (as A POINT, of course); AS the reduction of SPACE is offset by (or BALANCED with) the speed of light (c); AS E=mc2 IS F=ma; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/ENERGY IS GRAVITY. Indeed, ultimately and truly, TIME is NECESSARILY possible/potential AND actual IN BALANCE; AS E=MC2 IS F=MA; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/ENERGY IS GRAVITY. Very importantly, outer "space" involves full inertia; AND it is fully invisible AND black. GREAT. Accordingly, INSTANTANEITY is thus FUNDAMENTAL to what is the FULL and proper UNDERSTANDING of physics/PHYSICAL EXPERIENCE; AS E=mc2 IS F=ma; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. Great. MOREOVER, a given PLANET (including what is THE EARTH) then sweeps out equal areas in equal times consistent WITH/AS F=ma, E=mc2, AND what is perpetual motion; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/ENERGY IS GRAVITY. INSTANTANEITY is thus FUNDAMENTAL to what is the FULL and proper UNDERSTANDING of physics/physical experience, AS E=mc2 IS F=ma; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/ENERGY IS GRAVITY. This NECESSARILY represents, INVOLVES, AND DESCRIBES what is possible/potential AND actual IN BALANCE. Stellar clustering ALSO proves ON BALANCE that E=mc2 IS F=ma, AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is gravity. Objects (including WHAT IS the falling MAN) fall at the SAME RATE (neglecting air resistance, of course), as E=mc2 IS F=ma; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/ENERGY IS GRAVITY. "Mass"/energy is gravity. ELECTROMAGNETISM/ENERGY IS GRAVITY. E=mc2 IS F=ma. THE DOME of a PERSON'S EYE is ALSO VISIBLE. (Notice the flat AND black space of what is THE EYE.) The stars AND PLANETS are POINTS in the night sky. The sky is blue, AND the Earth is blue. THE EARTH/ground AND THE SUN are E=mc2 AND F=ma IN BALANCE, AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/ENERGY IS UNIVERSALLY PROVEN TO BE GRAVITY in what is a mathematically unified fashion. E=mc2 IS F=ma. @@thatdude4933 That's exactly right! Humans are a cancer of this planet. In fact, I'd even go further and say we're not really mammals. You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but we humans do not. We move to an area and we multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way we can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. We're a plague! And perhaps machines would be the cure.

@@MauriatOttolink It is interesting that within your exacting proclamation, "it is not..", with regard to the concern that others may have for the exploitation of the Earth. I wonder what it is that informs your political persuasions? As was stated toward the end of the documentary, given the condensed time scale. Dinosaurs managed the survive for more than thirty minutes, and were wiped out due to a cataclysmic event, changing their environment dramatically. Humans, however, have only been evolving on Earth for nineteen seconds. That, put in the context of the emergent Industrial Revolution, and Capitalism; your political persuasion may only ever exist for a quantum in the evolution of this wonderful place. Pity... and its ideology... is the lowest form of contempt. I wonder. Do you ever feel sorry for Snowflakes? Because, it's going to take and ocean of them to save this world from people like you!
@MauriatOttolink
@MauriatOttolink 4 жыл бұрын
@@vosegus5805 Hmm. I'm tempted to say that I never read such self satisfied over-verbose claptrap. Unfortunately, I hear it all the time. You'd better read The Club of Rome, The First Revolution, The explicit declaration by The UN that they propose to redistribute the wealth of the world, establish World Governance and further the intentions of the Bilderberg Group. I did not 'proclaim' "It is not"...I said "No . We are not'', in relation to his downright stupid claim that 'we are destroying the planet at the speed of light.' (7.5 times round the world in 1 second!) What informs my, as you presumptively put it, political persuasions is the unarguable science. (Unless you still think that we can turn lead into gold?) Studies of temperature and CO2 cycles by geological and ice cores, over millions of years demonstrate that Temperature peeks always, ALWAYS precede CO2 peaks by approx. 600-800 years. Temperature rises cause CO2 peeks! Not the reverse! Please explain why, this proven & undeniable cycle, should suddenly be different BEFORE you proceed with anything else! It is the foundation stone of the entire matter! While you're at it, please explain the "how & why" of the physical behaviour of the Co2 molecule, a "trace element' in the presence of I.R. radiation shows a 'green house effect" utterly dwarfed by water vapour which ABOUNDS! Maybe you don't know, which will of course, be something of an obstacle in your path. Any answer would also explain what happens to the molecule after prolonged exposure to I.R. ...ie its total saturation. The fashionable expression is "follow the science" SO FOLLOW THE SCIENCE. Politics, schmolitics. Peers Corbyn, brother of the retiring leader of Her Majesty's Govt. Opposition is a leading Climate Scientist and is a fine source of Science! He shares his brother's politics... You and the Snow flakes have obviously swallowed the lefty pill and the world needs people with common sense to defend it from you people like you. It's time that you opened up your brain-washed beliefs, to the obvious. Socialism cannot exist without either a solid capitalist system or sheer brutality to support it. Don't bother answering until you can explain the sudden, highly convenient disparity in the billions of year old evidence of CO2 peeks following Temperature peeks by approx 700 years and not t'other way round. There is NO scientific evidence for Global Warming.. Where is the evidence? There are plenty of weather incidences upon which they have pounced and declared to be caused by G.W. because they cannot be disproved by the brain-washed victims. Interesting evidence is not proof! The action of Co2 in I.R. can and HAS been duplicated in labs. and compared with water vapour!

But in Science its not true, one big example is jurassic era, happened 6mil yrs ago that time there's no animals and human at all, everything contradict in bible ver. I believe in God and Im Catholic but sometimes Im thinking, he made us but who made him? Or other words how did he exist if he started it all? Im starting to believe in side of science compare to the bible cause science have many evidence and its accurate. Let's say big bang is real. What is he doing before big bang? Mind blow shit man...

There's one part about how water got on this planet that I was surprised not to see here. The asteroids that bombarded the Earth did in fact have water in them and that did add some water to the surface, but a lot of it was vaporized and mixed with the toxic atmosphere the earth had at the time. Eventually, it began changing the composition of atmosphere; It also started to rain immensely for ions, helping to cover the earth with water.
