Absolutely love the way you told this story! I had 2 beautiful calm water births in 2009 and 2012 and had the same planned for my last baby last month.....however he had other ideas and flew out into daddies arms on the living room floor when he popped home on his lunch break! X

Loved this video! When I went in to labour I rang the hospital and they said have warm bath to help with the pain, I then told my hubby who said well you know where the tap is, lol.

You are hilarious! Thought it was funny when you mentioned you couldn't stand hubby. I was the exact same. I had contraction pain and horrid back pain so I was not happy that he did that to me. Haha & of course the bit about the sweep & hubby ripping of his clothes. Love your channel :D

I LOL'd in real life at the image of your hubbie stripping off to put in his scrubs. Bless! I had a planned c-section where I was completely knocked out with anaesthetic- came too with a baby which had been cleaned, fed and dressed! Jobs a good-in!

I also had an emergency c-section. My daughter had swallowed meconium and subsequently we both got infections. I'd done 42hrs labour prior to that with all the drugs at one point or other and I had green waters. She was then in NICU for a week even thouhh she was enormous (9lbs 8oz). I struggled to recover and found it very very tough. It's put me off having another one as there was a lot of faffing about. Loved listening to your story as it reminded me of mine but inns much more positive way x

I haven't had any babies but I am a theatre nurse and assist surgeons in surgery. So I see a lot of emergency and elective c-sections. We do our best to make it as special as possible for mum and dad & yes you still gave birth, the baby just had to come out a different way.

Loved this! Laughed my head off at the bit about your hubby stripping to put scrubs on! My youngest is 8 now so it's been awhile for me, but I do remember the dreaded SWEEP! My doctor's name was Dr Tiggert, he didn't actually tell me what the sweep entailed so I had no clue. When he did it, I yelled out "F**k Tiggert!" Why do I remember the sweep pain more than the contractions?? xx

Great birth story and good to show the positive sides to c-section for those who may end up experiencing one. With number one son who was 8 days overdue I had a water birth, calm and lovely. Number 2 son was in much more of a hurry (3 weeks early) and from my waters breaking in bed to him arriving it was 3.5 hours. There was no time for a water birth so he was born on dry land. x

Thankyou so much. I had an emergency c section in 2014 and my husband and I are now finally ready to try for our second baby and I would most definitely have a planned c section as my first birth was so traumatic. This made me feel a lot better about a second planned one. So thank you for that. X

haha love the scrubs story! both my kids were over cooked. daughter 13 days boy 12. I was lucky enough to have them both in the water & used hypno birth. (neither were induced) my daughters was magical only candles for light & music my son was during the day. no problems with either, no stitches etc which was a surprise as my boy was 10lb 7oz! his outfit home was 0-3 as newborn was too small! 😂 xx

Love a good birth story and love how you tell it! I also had 2 c-sections, both emergency sadly and always regret not having a planned one second time as ended up having to have a general anaesthetic as my body decided to try and push baby out at 1cm, so he had to be out super dooper fast!! Alarms and the lot, husband told me the alarms were because the gas and air was low. Weirdly my most vivid memories of it all is of a male nurse moving me and thinking wow he's got pretty long lady hair, and my last words before I went under were screaming at the anaesthetist 'it's not working, you need more drugs'!

I enjoyed hearing your birth story. I have 4 children, and my 2nd baby was born by emergency c-section. When I got pregnant with my 3rd and 4th I was adamant that I didn't want another caesarian because I was in such agony afterward due to the nursing staff not keeping my pain relief topped up. I was so happy that I was able to have natural births with 3 of mine, and the last two with only gas and air for pain relief. I love that stuff!! 😂

Ahhhh The bit about Mr C in his scrubs made me cry (totes emosh today!) I was induced both times with my cherubs, my girl was 8 hours with gas & air & an 8lb 11oz baby & my boy was 3 hours no pain relief (just blowing through an empty straw and screaming at my husband to take his jumper off because it was making me feel hot 😂😂🙈) and a 10lb 1oz baby. Happy days & I'd do it all again tomorrow (except the part where I dropped my waters.... all over the hospital corridors classy )

I had babies before the time of the Internet AND I was 18 with my 1st baby so there was a lot I didn’t know. Even went to The birthing class and still didn’t know about things like... sunny side up babies.... forceps... episiotomies... popping while pushing.... enormous breastfeeding boobs... but we survived. The next two babies I went into labor at 26 and 25 weeks... spent until 38 weeks on bed rest and although that part was scary/tiring their births were both basically a sneeze and a push without pain meds. Those last two have been the most high maintenance since birth, however, they have each given me a grandchild so, in the end TOTALLY worth it!

I had an emergency c-section with my first after 22 hours of labour. He was back to back and his heart rate kept dropping. When he was born he had the cord around his neck. My second baby I had a planned c-section as I was terrified of another emergency c-section and I'm so glad I did, he was 9lb 12oz! Xx

I had two awkward births. My Erin had her head turned sideways so needed forceps in theatre then Jack was footling breech. Much like your Erin it was only picked up during an examination whilst in labour! I had to have an urgent section but was waiting a couple of hours for theatre to be ready, all whilst contracting and them telling me it was too dangerous to give birth naturally!

I had emergency c section too with youngest. Our daughter was in distress and this was the only way to get her out. I nearly had a blood transfusion as lost so much blood. Have a phobia of surgery so just as well it was emergency as I wouldn't have choose this way. You made me laugh about your husband so funny. At the end of the day childbirth can't be that bad or people wouldn't have more children!

Came from Instagram, realised I'd already watched it, and then watched it again. I had a v birth. Was in labour for over 26 hours but wasn't dilating very fast to begin with (went from 1 to 2cm in about 15 hours). Wanted a water birth but there has been a power outage and there was something funny going on with the water. Didn't have an epidural but got pretty high on the gas and air.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for sharing this! It's so nice to hear of another more unconventional birth. I had my little girl by emergency c-section, under general anaesthetic (sp?) after being induced due to being 10-days over due. Eloise's heart rate was plummeting with each transaction due to the cord being wrapped around her throat, and she was back to back - she was born within 20 minutes of being told I was gonna have to have a c-section, while poor hubby was left out in the corridor. Also thank you for clarifying one of my burning questions regarding the elective second c-section, I'm not sure on what direction I'd like to go if we had another but it's nice to know I have an option.

+brummymummyof2 Just realised it reads transaction and not contraction rotflmao bl**dy auto correct. Yeah, she was fine after a little bit of oxygen and I'm glad they acted as quickly as they did. It was all so traumatic though, I too had endless hands where they shouldn't be, people were shouting at me and it's really hard not to focus on the bits we missed out on, like hubby cutting the cord and being able to hold her straight away. I haven't been able to watch One Born Every Minute since without getting ridiculously upset with the whole situation.

Loved this 👍 I could literally listen to you all day ha!! I was lucky enough to have natural births with my two girls I had an epidural with my first Emily, but it didn't work in time as they did it too late 😱 But with my second Madison I did have a lovely water birth, it wasn't planned, they just had a revamp of the maternity department upstairs (the old bit still downstairs) and asked if I would like to try it as I knew I didn't want pain relief I had already told them that, as it didn't work before So I went up, they ran the biggest bath I'd ever seen, lavender oil, it smelt lovely Then I remember I needed a pee and it just so happen my second lot of waters broke, while Tim and the midwife were cleaning that up I stripped off and got into the pool and within 5 mins little Madi popped out, they nearly missed it 🙄😂 I was in labour and hour and 7 mins in total Bloody brilliant!! A water birth is just so lovely I always tell everyone to have one it was definitely better then being on the bed with legs a kimber in agony! (My first) listening to the woman in the next room screaming her head off!! While James Blunt your beautiful is playing on the radio in the background 😂😂 It's also funny how then you don't care who looks at your privates you just want your baby out, but you're secretly thinking god did I shave 😂😂 I remember thinking that, and no I couldn't bloody get to it haha!!

My son was a footling breach and I wasn't allowed to go into labour so have never felt labour pains, I did have a kiddney stone a month after I had him that put me in the hospital and they said that is more painful then labour.....just a side note . So just curious, as the knew my son was breach the entire time but too big to manually turn did they not ever say to you the baby hasn't turned or we don't think the baby has turned ? My son is 19 now by the way but will always be my baby😌

Loved your story 😌 My pregnancy with my first child was so traumatic, followed by an equally traumatic labour ☹️ He was born with a rare genetic syndrome and is disabled, but he's the happiest kid you'll ever meet 😍 we've just found out a few weeks ago that I'm pregnant again 😮 So we are currently going through lots of horrible invasive tests, to see if this baby is also going to be born with that condition. Fingers crossed he/she (hoping for a she 😊) is going to be all good 👌 loved to hear that your second was much calmer and enjoyable, hopefully I'll have a better run this time around. Either way, labour is so painful and scary as hell!! Men have it too easy haha xx

I had a emergency C section with my last baby #4 pushed for 2 days nothing, nurse & dr tried to clip baby's head 3x 😬 The last attempt they had a good rummage for 10mins then it was right the baby can't come down its an emergency so it's a C section....with in seconds they were rushing me through the corridors undressing me and putting masks on me. As soon as I got into the theatre a needle was shoved into my hand I was out like a light. When I came round I was told they nearly lost baby then as she was born they nearly lost me 😥 baby (Ivy) couldn't come down because she had a huge knot in her fat short cord !!! We are all fine now and Ivy is 2 in Novemeber xxx loved your birth stories and your blog as always xxx

Then pushed for 2 half hours, then my chunk of 9lb 1 got stuck in my birth canal as was back to back so had to get epidural for them to turn her then had to have forceps and 3 pushes she was out!! 🙈 was close to having c section too 😊 Xxxx

Love a birth story!!! My first started out lovely as I gave birth to my eldest son in a birthing pool but took a turn for the worse when I got out & realised I had a really bad tear meaning I ended up in surgery with an epidural after all. Because of all that they kept an eye on me during my 2nd pregnancy resulting in an induction on my youngest sons due date. He came so quickly that they almost lost the pessary & literally had a midwifed whole arm up my lady bits (the glamour!!) trying to find it. Was meant to have a cut to stop me tearing again but they just didn't have time, youngest also turned out back to back & undone the damage from the first labour that was 4 years previously!!! So ended back up in surgery for a second time. The crazy thing is when people ask if I had any pain relief when I was in labour I tell them I just had gas & air until I had the baby, it was after I got the hard stuff lol!!!

That’s why the maternity wards here in the US admit you after labor starts, the baby could go into stress. Usually, you are placed on a monitor to keep stats on mom and baby. There are some hospitals that don’t do this but the majority does. Usually both mom and baby are kept in for a week. My daughter has had four children, the youngest is 4. Our maternity wards look like a fancy hotel too. I was surprised at how clinical yours look. That’s not a putdown, just my observation.

Overdue and induced with both my boys so I am very familiar with the 'sweep' 2 very long births where I needed drip to bring on the contractions, ended up with epidural both times and it made me sick both times, one epidural went a bit wrong and the block went from head to toe and to top it all I had to have two episiotomy's but it was worth every minute of it. I do have to remind my self that when my 14 year old, 6ft, size 10 feet first born is having a teenage strop!

I'm a bit late to the party - this could have been my birth story! Had 3 sweeps and was told head down at all of them, well the last one I went to at 41 weeks, the student midwife felt my bump and I thought I'd wee-ed. I was mortified. Mortified!! I tried to sit up and was making my apologies when my waters went properly. The midwife was calling triage saying 'you need to go to hospital right now' and I was crying about needing to change my shoes as there was wee in them. Got to triage and a midwife felt my tummy a lot. Then... she was like 'hmmm I think this is a head' - by my ribs. I was scanned and prepped for emergency section within the hour and whisked off for Bea's birth. Her little sister was also breech so planned section for her (which recovery wise was possibly worse, possibly because I was older). This time I had a vacuum pump dressing which has a little battery box and motor you have to wear. One night I was asleep and it started vibrating and beeping - being asleep I was a bit disorientated and thought we were being burgled. I woke up shouting 'someone's robbing us, someone's robbing us and I can't move' before Pete told me it was the battery alarm on the box!!! No more. the shop is closed for business!!!

That's just what happened to me except it was because baby had the cord around his neck. I only got to 2cm in 17.5 hours. Hilariously I had painted my toe nails the day before (God knows why I took me all afternoon) and you can't got into surgery with it on so hubs took it off one foot and a nurse took it off the other. Burgundy. Looked like my toes had been bleeding for the next few days in hospital. It was then like a whirlwind of people as you said. For my second I had an elective section. Much calmer in fact it felt like it was going in slow motion. Funny I was sick with the drugs second time too. So yep two out of the sunroof too :)

Im on my emma video binge again😆 my birth stories : with my daughter who was my first child i had a natural birth i was 42weeks exactly went into natural labour no problems at all. With my last child who is my second he was born early by emergancy c-section at 34+5 weeks. I bled on and off all the way through pregnacy doctors werent concerned but at 34+5 i woke up in a puddle of blood screamed cried straight to hospital only to be told by a junior doctor to go home (still heavy bleeding through a pad and onto my trousers 😔😓) whilst walking out the door the senior midwife asked if she could just see my pad she nerely lost her shit when she saw the blood and rushed me straight to delivery where i sat for about 30mins on a monitor then a doctor examined me and injected steroids to slow the bleeding and so baby had a fighting chance of growing abit more. 10minutes later i needed a wee so the senior midwife who brought me upstairs who never left myside took me toilet as soon as i stood up the amount of blood that fell to the floor was insane, as im on the loo the doctors nurses surgens went into panic mode when i came out the loo there was about 10people in my room waiting to rush me to theatre i signed all the forms went down and at that point i was in a day dream it was all abit too much i sat there getting my epadural crying on this senior midwifes boobs lol luckily it only took them 18 minutes to get me numb and get the baby out. He was born 5weeks early weighing 6lb 4onz not a thing wrong healthy little boy. If it wasnt for the experience of that senior midwife i might not be here and my baby deff wouldnt be here. Turns out my placenta had broke away and had a massive rip and was nerely in 2 bits. Im sorry for the details but not all births are pretty cute pain free rememberful. That has put me off ever having anymore babies iv got 1 of each 2 healthy babies/kids im lucky to have 😊

I had a traumatic experience forceps in theater being prepped for an emergency c - luckily he came out on the last allowed attempt 2 epidurals and a spinal block couldn't walk for like 12 hours it wasn't fun spent nearly a week in after as well may see if I can opt for an elective next time I'm scared of the trauma repeating it's self

first son i was over due and fully induced and they couldnt find his heart beat for nearly 8 hours they made me have a epidural all whilst his lil head was popping out very uncomfy and epidural didnt have time to work!! second son i had a sweep a week over due and had contraction every 15-30 mins for a week after! Then on my birthday the pain was all in my back and i started bleeding so had to go in cause of my blood type. they kept me in and he was born at 3am the next day it took 10 mins to push him out lol but cause it was so fast he had an innocent heart murmur for 5 months! On the plus side he wasnt born on my birthday just 3 hours after lol.

My first son was a traumatic birth. They knew he was measuring big &long but let me go 10 days overdue. Labour started fast, had an epidural & eventually started pushing. Then his wide shoulders got stuck in me& that was it!! They gave me an epesotimy (cut me down there!) then used the forceps & still couldn't get him out so I had a midwife pushing on my stomach &they got a vontuese suction on his head & yanked him out. I passed out, my husband said he had never seen so much blood coming out of someone they were using a bucket to catch it. Very luckily Thomas was OK as they told me after they were worried he may have had a lack of oxygen in the birth canal whilst he was stuck there. He was very long & 10lbs in weight but healthy. I had to have a few blood &plasma transfusions after &wasn't well enough to hold him until he was 2 days old. It took a while for me to recover down there but I'm just so glad he was ok. 2nd was planned c section as was big baby again & told same could happen!

I had an emergency csection with first for a back to back baby after 42hrs of contractions and 1hr and half of pushing! so there was no doubt in my mind when I had my second I was going to have another csection, I think I was more scared on the second which was planned as got there for 7.30am wasn't taken in till 12.30pm so lots of time to think of the worst, I definitely remember feeling more sick and funny the second time round. Both sections ended up in beautiful babies tho so it was all bad :-)

With my eldest I had a dream labour, 6 hours, went in at 2am and 6cm dilated, had pethadine, fell asleep, midwife woke me at 8am, checked me, I was 10cm I pushed 3 times and she was born at 8.39am and I said "was that it?" with my youngest I had 14.5 hours of excruciating labour, wired up to a machine cause they'd put a probe on her head so I couldn't move from the bed. Long story short I had the drip from hell to hurry me up, it bloody hurts, after 14.5 hours it all got very dangerous & I had an emergency c section & my daughter wasn't breathing at birth & they had to recuss her which was awful, but she's 19 now and perfectly fine but I had 2 very different births, think if I'd had the youngest first I wouldn't have had any more ha ha xxx

For my first and so far and for the unseen future only child. I had a planned c section cause my son was a wee tubby.. at 34 weeks doctors told me that I wouldn't be able to give birth naturally as he was too big. He was born weighting 11lb 11ozs at 39 weeks... safe to say my partner isn't allowed to put anymore babies in me..

Well I went to the hospital for an antenatal appt, when I got there I became very irritated and was getting really touchy with having to. Finally I got called in got up in the bed the dr came through felt my stomach, said where is the head to which I replied u tell me. He then said how long have u been in pain, I said oh a few hours now and he replied you are in actual labour. Pooping myself said I am not, I have had this pain before, so he said how many children have u got, I said this is my first, he said well believe me u have not had these pains before. The head had been engaged for three weeks but not any more he had turned right round and I cld still tell u the day he had done it, anyway he sent me for a scan to see where he was exactly, when I got called back in he said "Do you know u are having a big baby" which scared the poo out of me, I said no and he said well u do now. By this time my pain had stopped so I thought I cld go home but they said no chance to send hubby home for bag, that I was going upto a bed on the ward and if the pain had not started again that I wld be going down for a C Section the following day. Once I was in the ward diff Drs and nurses were coming up from everywhere asking did I mind if they felt my tummy, I was Terrified and thought something was wrong. Later on a midwife popped her head round the door and said again do u mind if I feel your tummy I said yes but by this time was totally stressed out. She felt my tummy and said I believe you have been told u are having a big baby well in my opinion the baby is about 7lb 7oz or 8lbish you definitely do not need a section u wld be much safer to have a natural birth. Anyway the next day I went down to the theatre because there had still been no more pain and I had my Section and out popped a lovely little 12lb baby thank god that midwife had not left me to give birth naturally and that they brought him through the Sun Roof bum first. Also I got pregnant on my honeymoon in Spain and when we found out I was pregnant I joked with my husband that the really camp little barman was not as gay as everyone thought and the whole I called my bump Pedro. The first words we heard as they brought him out was a nurse saying omg he looks Spanish at which we both burst out laughing and that my husband had a sense of humour, my son was extremely jaundiced and had a full head of black curly hair
