Hello, friends! Welcome back to my channel One Blessed Mess for my birth story for our son Jack! Jack's pregnancy and birth were both marked by complications, and it was a unique experience giving birth when I was sick during a pandemic. I touch on my postpartum hemorrhaging scare as well - stay tuned until the end for actual footage from his birth! 💗

We are praying for #5 and I’ve been so fearful but feel like it’s Gods will for us to try for another one-im trying to not let the fear of what if overwhelm me. Please pray for Gods will over our family and if it’s His will for our family to grow then we will and if not we will be at peace with that too. Omg I’m like blowing up on your comments... but such a similar experience with even Steve standing in the corner sort of in shock. We prayed right after and God saved me too! God is good indeed! Thanks for sharing. Sweet baby boy is a blessing. Our experiences can vary so much and for me.. when I have an induction it always messed me up and caused the bleeding. Ugh... it’s so hard! This last birth was easy and she is my ninth as you know.. so it all varies. I’m praying for your heart and strength. God is good! I had some feels after but ultimately you are alive and here. Do you know if thats true with a lot of other people? Meaning have you asked your ob if it was common? Because I was induced and hemmoraged as well. 🤔 ive only had one baby though so i dont have much to go off of. Just scared to try for baby #2 after having such a scary time with my first.

Oh sweet mama, I am so sorry you experienced a traumatic birth and the struggles with the pregnancy. Traumatic births are shared by so many and such a very serious event in a woman’s life. Everything you’re feeling, processing, and healing from is so valid and I hope that you have all the love and support through all of this. My prayers go out to you and your beautiful family. I had placenta previa with Katie and it was very traumatic for me. I had hemorrhaging several times before she was born and I was on hospital bed rest from 20 weeks to 34 weeks because of it. The hemorrhaging was so bad that each time we were sure it was a miscarriage. The final time at 34 weeks sent me into an emergency c-section and the next day I passed out and had to have a blood transfusion. I was anemic for a long time. The feeling of trauma will get better over time especially as you heal and see your baby thrive. But honestly it is still hard for me to be in a hospital. I’m so glad you are both safe and well. ❤️

The second birth was my most traumatic...... But that cry of your little James at the end was oh so worth it! God is so good! I will be praying for you. Thank you for sharing your story. I am so thankful you are doing well and baby Jack is healthy ❤ I really related to the part about fear and anxiety stealing the joy around this pregnancy because I too have five kids. My first three pregnancies were so easy and fun. I loved being pregnant too. I too thought we were done having children but someone was just missing. We got pregnant in 2019 and one surprise after another...we had twins! During pregnancy we learned our baby girl would be born with a heart defect and Downs Syndrome. The fear of the unknown stole our joy even tho I fought hard for it not to. My delivery wasn't much smoother, ended up with vaginal birth and then emergency c section for our son. And the months that led up to Ella's heart surgery felt like an eternity! Postponed three times , she finally had open heart surgery in March's lockdown 2020 and I had to stay with her by myself. My husband couldn't stay with us due to restrictions. I honestly can't comprehend how we've made it through this year. Ella is doing so well and such a joy! Sorry for the long comment but just know you aren't alone. Thank you for being honest and real! I've really enjoyed your channel since I have been first year homeschooling this year. Which is a whole different story🤣🤣 Wish I could talk to you more, I think we have a lot in common!! God bless and rest and enjoy that new baby!!!

Just finally watched this video! You and I were pregnant at the same time. My 4th is 2 months older than Jack. When you started talking about how hard the pregnancy was during a pandemic and not being able to meet with family and friends, it made me cry. That was the hardest part for me with my last pregnancy. We had just announced to our church family that we were pregnant and a week later the lockdowns started. I didn't get to be with any of my church family during the entire pregnancy. It was so hard because I struggle with prenatal anxiety and was depending on being connected at my church to help keep me above water. It was the most isolating experience, especially as a believer. Which is terrible since she is our last baby. I have healed with time, but it still makes me sad when I think about it too much. It should have been different for both of us. ❤❤

Oh wow! Bless your heart ❤, I cannnot imagine! It's scary enough just being pregnant in the midst of all the crazy going on around us. But I'm so glad ya'll came through it ok! (And your hubby and the nurse praying over you, tho!!😍😭❤) I also recently gave birth to #5, a girl on Nov 6 :). I had a different experience this time, but totally nothing - so scary! - like that! (>>our first homebirth since it's legal in our state now, lots of crazy start/stop contractions which finally led to my husband catching the baby in the living room floor while the midwives were on their way.. and then on the phone guiding us through til their arrival... definitely an experience!! I wouldn't change it though.) Such a sweet baby cry and a beautiful ending. ❤I love your channel, btw. It definitely does help knowing we're not in the trenches alone!

I've been through the same things you have my baby is 4 months and it was so scary and I screamed and cried uncontrollably. But I thank God so much that I have people around me that knew what to do. He is a good God. Thank you God that he protected you. x

I know exactly what you are talking about. I went through the immense hemorrhaging as well with my second baby girl. I remember praying to GOD that HE keeps me here on earth because I want to see my girls grow up. I remember the doctor coming in and explaining to me that if what he was about to do, didn’t work, then I would need a blood transfusion and need to be taken into surgery. Thankfully, what he did, did work all thanks to GOD. Women are incredible human beings and we go through so much that is often over shadowed or swept under the rug. I’m so thankful that Jack is a healthy boy and for you l being so brave in sharing your story. GOD was with you every step of the way. May GOD continue to bless your beautiful family.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I experienced postpartum hemorrhage after my first baby. Like you, I was completely traumatized. My husband had left the hospital to take my parents back to our apartment and check in our dog, and while he was gone, I began to black out and go into hypotensive shock. The doctor came in and did that manual procedure that was so painful, and because I was alone, they had to take the baby away for a while. I ended up having blood transfusions. The next day, when the newborn photographer came in, I tried to sit up in the bed and starting gushing blood again. I was very weak and had headaches for the next few weeks, making it hard to care for baby. Thank you for talking about it- I’m sure it is somewhat therapeutic for you to just be able to cry and talk and know other moms have been through something similar. It was traumatic for sure and ended up leading to pretty severe postpartum depression that lasted about a year for me. Although I am so thankful for my children, that was one of the darkest times I have been through in my life. It did steal a lot of joy and definitely not what I expected new motherhood to look like! Bless you mama. I will pray for you. Take time to rest. Ask for help. And continue talking to your friends, family, us and your doctor about it all. Hugs.

Thank you so much for sharing your birth story. I think a lot of first time moms (or even 2nd, 3rd, etc) never even think about what happens (or what can happen!) after delivery of the baby. Once the baby is out, it's still not actually over. How incredibly scary that this happened to you! I had a lot of blood loss with my 2nd, so going into my 3rd (just gave birth in Sept!) I knew that it was possible that I could hemorrhage and my OB was so good about keeping this in her head with the birth plan. All I could think about after the baby was out was, "Is there a lot of blood?" It's sad that we have to think about that, but it's truly scary to see all that blood pooling out into the toilet. Thank the good Lord, bleeding was minimal and recovery was great. I'll be praying for your continued postpartum journey! Love seeing all your photos of baby Jack on IG! :D

So beautiful. What a powerful testimony. Thank you so much for sharing. It was so encouraging. I’ll be praying for you as you continue to heal. My first pregnancy was perfect until the third trimester. He was born early and had health issues for a few years. My second pregnancy was high risk. I had issues through out it. I understand the fear you talked about. I was so scared I wouldn’t be able to care for my son on top of it. But God was gracious. I did experience preterm labor but they were able to stop it. We made it to 38 weeks and had a healthy little girl. God is faithful.

Thank you for this video. I had a traumatic birth 15 months ago with my 3rd and last (hysterectomy) baby...thankfully he was our 1st boy! I had placenta previa and placenta percreta where the placenta was growing thru my uterus and into my bowel (which had to be fixed) and I was on hospital bedrest (an hour from home) for 30 days before his birth...we are so thankful for him...he is now a healthy strong boy but at the time he was 5 lbs and born at 35 weeks. He spent 9 days in NICU. I had a 10% mortality rate and that scared me to death. Good for you-trusting in the Lord.

Oh my gosh! I suffered a severe post partum hemorrhage right after the birth of my daughter. I lost 3 liters of blood and had to have several blood transfusions. It was so scary! I also had to have a balloon in my uterus to stop the bleeding. Thankfully I didn’t end up having to have a hysterectomy. I’m so sorry Mama. It’s so hard. I felt all of those things you were describing. God is so good and faithful! It gets easier after awhile but don’t be afraid to ask for help! Praying for you!!

I hemorrhages after my 6th and had a manual cleaning on top of emergency medicine they had to give me. The nurse stabbed me in the thigh twice and it all went so fast. I was terrified. With my 5th I had preeclampsia really bad and felt like I was dying. I stayed in the hospital for a week. Giving birth can be terrifying. You’re not alone. Thankful you and baby are safe and healthy ❤️. Get lots of rest and enjoy your family. We will be here when you come back.

My last baby who was born in 2019 I began hemorrhaging as well. My older two children were at the birth center and I passed out twice after labor. I remember feeling the same way. I asked my husband to take the kids to a family friends house because I was afraid I would die and I didn’t want them there when it happened. I didn’t want them to see me dead. I was lucky my midwife acted as quickly as she did. I did however end up with iron deficiency anemia due to the blood loss. I wasn’t able to drive for weeks after birth and I wasn’t able to carry my baby for several days because I was so dizzy when I walked. It was very scary. I can definitely relate to your emotional issues and the fear of what your husband would do without you. I am glad you made it through such a scary post partum and you can enjoy your baby fully now. I was in prodromal labor for 8 days with my first before I couldn’t take it anymore and got induced. It was miserable. Then I was fully dilated, but baby girl was stuck and I had to have a c-section at the end of it all. It was not the birth experience I wanted. So I can imagine how you felt. It was not as scary as your experience. Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one whose birth experience was so unexpected. I’m so sorry you had to go through all that. Praying for you.

Awwww, I loved this video. Makes me want another baby... or two! I wanted to also mention since moms can be hard on each other (creating guilt/worry, ect...) that it is completely okay that you were on antibiotics during pregnancy, labor and probably after delivery. Your little boy will be completely fine! I had antibiotics with all three deliveries for endocarditis plus my 3 year old has been on a daily antibiotic for over a year, multiple high does for sepsis, kidney infections and UTIs~ None of my children have food allergies, eczema or issues! All are super healthy and my 3 year old is having surgery in 6 weeks to hopefully get her off all these antibiotics. No learning troubles either 🙂 Just wanted to share that because being a mom is hard enough, don’t let others place guilt or fear into your mind. I’m so happy you and Jake are healthy!! Enjoy the holidays!

Yes birth trauma is quite scary... I have had 2 pregnancies and birth that were very traumatic as well... not including the pandemic pregnancy and birth... praying for you as well for your healing

I hemorrhaged after having my 2nd too and had a manual cleaning. It took me a few months to even speak about it. Take your time to process everything and leave your feelings and anxiety in prayer at the foot of the cross 💗

Hey! I really relate to your birth story but yours was far more tramatizing than mine. I hemmoraged when my placenta was coming out and the doc had to go in with her hand too and that hurt just as bad as giving birth to me. I lost a ton of blood and couldnt talk about to anyone for months after that without feeling like I was going to pass out. I asked my OB what the chances are of it happening to me again with my next baby and she said about 18% chance 😳 im only on my first baby and want to have more but that is a scary high percentage in my opinion. Anyway, im happy you and your baby are doing good! Glad I found your channel

In 2010 I had my last son. It was a high risk pregnancy. I had placenta accreta and placenta previa. At 28 weeks I was put on bed rest in the hospital!!!! I had two other children at home and overnight my husband became a single, working dad. I made it to 32 weeks in the hospital and then one Saturday afternoon massive amounts of blood came gushing out. My room was barraged with hospital personal in seconds. I was taken to the OR and prepped for surgery in record time. I needed 9 units of blood, and had to have a hysterectomy because they could not stop my uterus from bleeding. What was unknown was that I had pretty bad endometriosis and my bladder was adhered to my uterus. So the doctors were trying to work really fast to save my life and then they ran into that road block. Originally doctors did not think my son would survive. He lost too much blood and I had lost too much blood. But, God had other plans. He spent about 6 weeks in the NICU but eventually he did come home. Obviously I survived too. I landed in the ICU after giving birth and saw my son from a tiny camera phone picture. It would be a few more days before I was strong enough to hold him. The whole experience was really terrible and in the end I had PTSD. It did not rear its ugly head right away. I just thought it was post partum depression like I had with my other pregnancies. But it was much worse this third time around. I sought out counseling a few months after he was born and eventually took medication. I’m telling my story because I want other women to know that it is possible to come back form a horrible traumatic birth like I did. It took time and energy and dedication. The PTSD is so much better and it is because I’ve worked consistently with a therapist and for me medication has helped. Recovery is possible. You can get your life. Thank you for sharing your story. Im glad your therapy and everything has helped you get through your trauma a little better. Still terrifying but good to know that doctors can save you even after losing that much blood. I hemmoraged while delivering my placenta with my first baby and thankfully the medication they gave me stopped the bleeding but it was still really scary and was something I couldnt talk about for a long time. I couldnt imagine the stress you and your family went through during that trauma. Youre so strong to get through that and be able to share your story with others. ❤

My first pregnancy was really scary...after finding out the gender we make it home and doctor called saying there was cyst on her brain - there was talk of T18 - and possibility of losing her shortly after birth...had a lot of in and out of the ER bc she wasn't moving and heart rate dropping...it was so scary...a lot of praying and surrending bc He created her so it brings in a whole new level of trust that everything was going to be ok and if He would take her for Him to prepare my heart for that and at least I was able to carry her bc just in that I felt so honored.. She was born a month early by C-section and completely perfect - tiny but perfect!!! God did a miracle before all doctors and nurses SHE WAS PERFECT from her head to her toes inside and out - I get emotiomal STILL when I talk about it - she is our miracle baby from the start ❤ I will never forget ❤

I am so encouraged to hear your little girl was healthy. Im 21 weeks right now and found out last week that our baby has choroid plexus cysts and have to go in for another follow up in a week or so. My doctor isn’t too worried because none of the other signs of T18 were present. So I am praying the cysts will be gone soon. They are fairly common and usually resolve by birth, so I am hopeful. ♥️
