Dunk-a-roos was AWESOME! I remember only getting to have them a couple times as a kid cuz my mom would only get them when they were on sale... like everything else, haha. Hope Mal and Dan both had great days. That cake looked amazing!

32 is so young. It's cool that Mal's birthday is the day after NCS's. I've never thought of funfetti cake as a kid's cake. Probably because I never had it as a kid. My mom either got buttercream cakes which she loved or I had ice cream cake. I didn't have funfetti cake until I was an adult. It's pretty good. I'm 40 and the last time I had it was a couple years ago.

There are really easy-to-make varieties of kimchi. When I was in college in an area without easy access to Asian groceries, I would make it with regular, non-Napa cabbage (or sliced cucumbers, radishes, or some other vegetable), some salt, red pepper flakes, diced green onions, crushed garlic, and ginger (if I had any). Wash and heavily salt chopped up cabbage (or cucumber or raddish) and let it sit a couple hours. Rinse off excess salt and squeeze out liquid. Mix in other ingredients to taste. It's pretty much ready to go, but tastes better the longer it absorbs the other flavors. Decent when you're in a pinch. dunkaroos were like, tiny graham cracker/cinnamon cookies that you would dip in a vanilla frosting with sprinkles. they were discontinued a long time ago though :(

Dunk-a-Roos was my favorite thing as a kid! Oreo made a cinnamon flavor a few years back and it was exactly the same flavor. I could eat a whole package in a day. And I did. Haha. But of course, like all my favorite food things, it was discontinued...and now my life is empty once more. :/ I’ll go buy some of this frosting and bake a cinnamon cake. Hopefully it will fill the hole in my heart.
