Love when you make the lunches, especially the Harry Potter theme lunches (I’m a Ravenclaw)! What I’d like in my lunch (no real theme to it) is a Ham and Cheese Sandwich with some Mustard (Spicy Brown), some Baby Carrots and Cucumber Slices, Watermelon, some Mini Pretzels, a Butterscotch Krimpet (Tastykake [I’m from Philadelphia]), and Diet Chery Pepsi. My birthday is this October, turning 30. Hope to see more of your amazing lunches this summer!

from a former PF Chang's employee who rolled sushi daily-- your rice was definitely not sticky enough. I could tell from the beginning that the roll wasn't going to turn out!! I never actually made the sushi rice when I worked there, but I always remember all the grains sticking together and not falling apart into individuals and thats what made the best sushi. also for cutting it, if you can find a rounded knife, it works a lot better!

B-Day lunch would be gado gado. That's white rice with steamed vegetables (like chopped cabbage, green beans, taugé actually you can add any vegetable you like), fried tofu, a boiled egg, chicken satay, fried onions & peanut sauce.

You know what would be really fun? A series of lunch ideas inspired by restaurant copycats! You could do both fast food and dining places. DIY meals inspired by the entree and meal favorites. Especially with people's budgets getting tighter! For example, using Outback Steakhouse: Petit Grilled Steak, Copycat Honey Whole Wheat Bread, mixed veggies or salad, baked potato. Sonic: Chili Cheese Dogs, Tater Tots, Coleslaw, Fruit Salad, DIY Cherry Limeade Slush. You could also incorporate restaurants from your travels, and copycat popular Disney and Dollywood items.

For the sushi you need to press it firmer amd use a sharp knife. Press it firmer but don't squish it and make sure your knife cuts through smoothly.

I use sticky rice that you can buy from the freezer section of Walmart. It’s the best rice for beginners (like me).. I lived in Japan for 4 years,so I picked up a couple tips. But I am far from a “sushi chef”. But my grandson loves sushi, so I thought I better learn how to make it. It’s so much cheaper. 🍣🍱🍚🥠

I think It would be good if the sushi rice is more stcky 😂 and the seaweed paper you used seems easy to bite it as I look. I recommend you cut it into quarters before roll it up then you can make baby sushi (꼬마김밥) for them :)

With the sushi you need a very sharp knife and it's actually better to slice straight down rather than use a sawing motion. You were definitely correct about overfilling it the first time, but your second try looked good. Well done!

I am no means the best sushi maker but your rice was just loose, so maybe different setting in your instant pot? Or you could just use a normal pot, first of all you wash your rice till water is almost clear, then you add ratio of 1:1,2 (rice:water), cover your pot, get it to boiling and lower the gas after boiling and cook for 10 min, after that leave it covered for another 10min, transfer to another contaner, would recommned ad big shallow one and add your vinegar salt and water and use a wooden spoon to cover it evenly trying to to seperate the grains too much. Another thing is I would recommend the bamboo matt, cause when you roll it you are making sure everything is tight, and it helps with it sticking together, after you close your roll you can squish it and shape it to be a square. mostly what went wrong for you is stuff being loose so improving on rice sticking and presing it should help ; )
