This is all wrong. The star recognition is Chuck E.’s job according to the website. They should have had a Biblical Birthday Star dance contest with the song Havin’ A Party, a birthday star crowning ceremony, a birthday star medallion ceremony, a game where the left side shouts “happy” and claps their hands 2 times & where the right side shouts “birthday” and claps their hands 2 times, the Birthday Star Song (the Birthday Song & Dance 2018 is awful, to be honest with you), and the song Happy Birthday to You. They should have had the announcer getting the audience to pray to God and then get them ready by asking them if they are ready. The show is also rushed through, which is not good. I think corporate office needs to take the Nurturing God’s Way parenting class and learn about child development.

I remember doing birthdays as Chuck E, good times. I like how far they've dumbed this down. A good performer does these things naturally but I'm glad they put effort into it.

The new birthday song is not good. What happened to "You're a birthday star at Chuck E. Cheese, you're a special guest, we all aim to please!" and so on. Where did those lyrics go?!? Those birthday song lyrics had been in the birthday shows for almost 26 years! Also, in some locations, the Chuck E. performer is overwhelmed with kids wanting to meet him, and with multiple birthday party's getting celebrated with something like 45 people in the small showrooms, the poor chuck person would not have space to even hardly move. I suspect that's why some of the people who get inside those costumes are not as energetic like CEC entertainment thinks they are.

so many flaws in this training video. character performing is more difficult that they're making it seem; you're in a hot, claustrophobic space being extremely active. it's a gift to be a character performer imho.. they're also assuming that chuck e. has room to perform, which he does not in locations without dance floors. even then, many of the guests ignore/neglect the birthday show. small kids get out of their seats to go hug chuck e, parents assume it's fine because nobody actually realizes that a show is going on. it also doesn't help that, in reality, very few cec employees actually care about their job. soo... yea...

Indeed, everything you said absolutely is valid. I worked there for nearly a year, and while it was fun waking up Chuck, it got to be very aggrevating sometimes. Too many kids just keep trying to give Chuck E a high five, hug him, the such while performing. I get that they don't know better but it's the parent's job to make sure the kids are cooperating with what's going on. There have been too many times where Chuck E just got absolutely swarmed by kids to where it's a living heck to try to do anything worth a performance. And that video is an absolute lie of how the showroom actually is when Chuck E is doing the show, kids are standing in the way, swarming Chuck E, so on. Heck, the families sing happy birthday before or even AFTER the show (I get it's their choice, but if they don't want a show, that should be communicated or heck, they should be filled in about the itinerary of the party/layout of how they party is going to be going by THE HOST, you know, how communication SHOULD WORK, or even parents should be doing RESEARCH to get a feel for how parties go at CEC) and it's just kind of insulting in which we're supposed to be doing the work and yet they do their own thing anyway, even though CEC literally markets that we plan, they chill. Not only that but the hosts try to start pictures BEFORE Chuck E is done, they are rushing the process, and damaging the illusion that Chuck E is real by interrupting him during his dialogue. It's aggrevating to be for Chuck to be talking/doing something, only to be interrupted, it's like what's the point of having Chuck out if all he's out there for is photo ops, Chuck E is supposed to be the Mickey Mouse for EVERYONE (and not just for the rich, eat the rich by the way), he is not just a figure for photo ops and a hugging post. He is a mouse for star's sake. And this isn't related to the show, but Kid Check. I have gotten asked on occasion why I'm doing what I am doing and I have had to explain to them what Kid Check is for. Again, you think before going somewhere, you'd research what you'd be getting yourself into but people just go, but nope, they don't bother because they just want to get their kids off their back for a few hours without putting thought into it. I apologize about the rant but watching that video just got me thinking about things.
