No he is not from Hyderabad. This is not Hyderabadi biryani masala. What he is showing is Hyderabadi paya masala. That too it's not correct. Authentic Hyderabadi Biryani doesn't have any special masala. Just basic sabut garam masala ie darchini, loung, elaichi, badi elaichi, this is put in water for boiling Rice plus shah zeera ( actually it's called Sia zeera ie black zeera, outsiders call it shah zeera. ) Same thing sabut garam masala is added to meat plus red chilli powder, haldi, adrak lahsun paste, little bit of standard garam masala powder and brown fried onion crushed, curd, hara masala paste( green chilli, kothmir( dhania leaves) , pudina) or chopped. That is all the masala used in Hyderabadi biryani. Some Telugu people from coastal cities ie vijayawada vizag they run hotels here in Hyderabad. They use all kinds of wierd masalas for their customers who are also not from Hyderabad. These cooks learn from them and think they are making Hyderabadi Biryani. In those areas not a single Hyderabadi lives so nobody knows what is being made, neither the odia cook nor the customer who migrated from vijaywada nor the hotel owner who is also not from Hyderabad. It's like a Tamilian making chole bhathura in delhi for tamil customers who n delhi. 😂😂
