I am an American and I like your videos. They're really helpful for getting a perspective other than the ones presented by western media, while still avoiding government funded propaganda. I feel like China is only hurting its own international relations. This would be a good opportunity for the US to build relations with countries in southern, central, and southeast Asia, and even make amends with Vietnam.

I do admit that china has willingly damaged relations with India. However, the same cannot be said about southeast Asia. China is the largest trading partner and foreign investor in all of south east Asia. All southeast asian nations are part of China's Belt and road. They have said again and again that they will NEVER pick a side between the US and China.

We cannot outchina in debt trap diplomacy. We should undertake more strategic investments in Sri Lanka as well as help their country on path towards self sustainability. They should realize that many dud projects are going to make them slaves and poor. Giving out freebies helps to mask misgovernance but it will blow up like it eventually did.
