We just wanted to acknowledge our Bi-Community to let them know that we support you!
We are Ebony and Denise, a two-mom family with three kids; Olivia, Jayden & Lucas. Denise and I have been together for 12 years and married for 8 years. We love recording family-friendly videos and sharing our lives with the world.
We hope to inspire, inform and connect with people who can relate to our story and might consider sharing their own story of “coming out.” Coming out is a journey of self-acceptance, and we hope to inspire the courage in our viewers to be authentically who they are. We would like for our viewers to realize that the life they envision living is in fact possible. That having a partner, career, and family is possible in spite of being stigmatized by society.

I'm not bi, but I'm ace. Both our communities are too often erased by both straight people and by the LGBTQ+ community. I've seen so many on both sides deny these two communities. I think part of the problem with that is were are seen as "not gay enough" or "not straight enough", as though it must be a binary option. Both communities reject you because you aren't "pure" or "devoted" enough. They see you as some sort of "traitor". At it's worst, I've seen some discourse on how both bi and ace people are "pretending" to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community. People just don't realize that sexuality can be fluid. It's sort like how in some lesbian communities if you aren't a "Gold Star" you aren't "really a lesbian". It's as though if you don't meet the super specific criteria, then your sexuality doesn't exist. But, we do exist. I know a lot of other aces, and there are TONS of bisexual people. Rhetoric like this is designed to fragment us and to take away our validity. I cannot stress this enough to my fellow aces, to all bisexuals, and anyone else who may need to hear this; You are valid. You are real. You matter to this world. Be proud of who you are

I’ve identified as straight, but felt in my heart I was lesbian. After coming out and several attempts at lesbian relationships, my reality set in. Nope. I’m bisexual. I’m 44 years old and have had plenty of time to figure it out and ‘experiment’ with both sexes. I prefer to have close emotional relationships with men, but my sexual preference and unique relationship is with women. I’ve never been married or cheated. I am happily dating and have 2 special open relationships. Some would call polyamorous. I am also a mother. My daughter grew up watching me date men exclusively until I cam out as lesbian at (her) age 11. She also has been witness to my changing identity as bi at (her)age 17. To her I am, and always have been, just mom. End of story. It’s not that complicated.

My husband and I are both bi and poly. I came out when I was 16. And he came out to me two years after we got married. I couldnt be happier for him. We have a 2 year old and a baby due any day now. We went to our first pride event with our child today and it was so much fun! All the love we felt just watching people being free was life changing. We are definitely going to be open with our children and encourage them to be whoever they are without shame. We wanted to thank your family for being open and people our kids can grow up watching. You two are just the most genuine people on KZbin and I am so grateful to both of you for being so accepting of those of us in the bi community. I get eye rolls every time I tell people what I am and it is super frustrating when I try to explain it and it's still viewed as a 'phase' (even though I'm almost 40 and have acknowledged my sexuality since 18). Also, it's hard being a bisexual parent because I get people asking me how I explain that to my kids considering I'm married to their father still. I'm very open with my kids and, bless her heart, telling my 12yr old daughter made her feel comfortable enough to tell me she identified the same! We gotta stick together as a community and remember love is love and we're all allowed to express it in whatever way is right for us. You ladies are gorgeous and you have such a beautiful family. I’m not a parent yet, but I’m bi and it’s definitely something I think about - do I come out to my kids? Will people think that’s inappropriate? That’s a big concern being bi is that people consider it to be nasty, just like the girl’s sibling said. It makes you feel ashamed and embarrassed.

Before I came out as bi I watched you guys it helped, and im planning on going through fertility treatment when I finish my education and when I move. My coming out was in stages, I told my friends, and one of my brothers, then I came out on Facebook. I do not recommend this my mum whole I talked to every day didn’t talk to me for 6 weeks, her friends shared it to her and said “I’m so sorry”. My other brother also found out on Facebook and he just joked around with me teasing me just being his normal big brother self. I have told one Grandpartent, and I told them when he, his friend and me were having dinner and they were talking about how they didn’t know any LGBTQI+ people but that they thought they are great people and was a shame they didn’t know any. So I said well you do I’m bi. And they invited me to stay at their houses if I wanted to go to Mardi Gras.

I remember coming out to my mom letting her know that I am bisexual. And the first thing was the look that I got from her, and then oh you are going thru a phase. One thing i recall telling her, "mom, i love who i love, and its doesnt matter the gender". The hardest was coming out to my son, and it was very hard on him. He took that very hard and he was upset with me, because he didn't understand and he didn't want to be bullied. I kept my relationships on the low for his sake and his going to school with kids that may not understand and be accepting to that lifestyle.As he got older he became more accepting and supports the friends that we have built over the years and the growth that he has had on his own. More accepting. Current status i am in a loving relationship with a man. But he accepts and embraces that I am bisexual, and honestly I love it because it is a relief and he loves me for who i am. When you are with someone that loves you for you and is supportive it truly is a blessing. One love Happy Pride. ❤❤

Hey thanks for doing this! As a bi femme girl it was really nice to see acknowledgement and expectance. I am a 20yr old from Kansas and though I’ve been excepted by my immediate family and friends it is my other communities that I find bi erasure so prevalent. This is a little off topic but it ties in I promise. I have been dancing since I was three specifically ballet. In the dance community it is so common to see guys who are gay and it’s no big deal but for some reason in my life it seems like everyone freezes when they find out I’m bi. I hope that me being out and going back to my old studio will provide comfort for the younger girls I know who have come out as bi and those who are questioning it especially in the ultra femme ballet world.

So being bisexual.. I have had trouble while in a relationship with a male. He would get very self conscious about me leaving him for a female. And what a lot of ppl dont understand is that when im one person (male of female)... Im with them. Being bisexual means im going to love whom ever takes the time to love me back and vis versa. Let me tell you, it REALLY HURTS when you aren't accepted by the Community OR by heterosexuals. I'm bisexual, but just happened to fall in love with and marry a man. First off, thx a lot for this video! As a single Mom, this is a topic that I wish more influencers include. So again thx making this! I really don't like labels, because of the side effect of been bi within the community. I could be totally wrong, but I feel as if the lesbian community is a bit harsh with bi-woman. Feels as if they ready to pull up the judging card at the first sign of insecurity. When come's to dating. Something lesbians need to understand is. The likelihood of a bi-sexual woman end up with a guy is a bit higher due to the numbers. I mean number won't lie; the pool of single males is more significant than on the woman side. I identify as lesbian but I have been told by numerous lesbians that they would never date a bisexual because they're bisexual ex cheated on them with a man. I always try to tell them that it's people who cheat, and that sexuality is nothing to do with it. From my experience of previously coming out as bi, I wouldn't tell girls I was bi on dates as I felt they would automatically label me as a cheater. It would be good to discuss things like this, as even though I no longer identify as bisexual, I would really like the bisexual stigma to end for my fellow bi friends 🌈

As a bisexual, or pansexual (which I prefer for myself, because for me the binary of gender doesn't affect how I feel about people), it is easy to be erased. Coming out to your partner, coming out to people while you have a partner, and I could only imagine coming out to your children while assuring them that you want to stay with their other parent (if you're together) but are still bi, aren't always easy things. There are sometimes fears that your devotion to the relationship will be questioned, and I have found that to be hard.. I've been in devoted monogamous relationships where I've told my partner, and they would assume I am telling them because I want to have threesomes or see other people.. When people go from a long term relationship with a man to a relationship with a woman, things you will often year are "oh they became a lesbian". That kind of ignorance is hurtful. It could be the case, like Denise said sometimes people realise later, but it should never be assumed; when people assume that, they are not acknowledging that bisexuals exist.

I always found the stigma that bisexuals are thrown into a stereotype to just want to date more than one person at a time. Basically saying bisexuals are poly. For me being single i never cared which i was dating. I always had to make the point that as long as it was one at a time i had no preference.

I had blocked it out until an old “friend” brought it up that I had come out as bisexual when I was like 13. That friend is lesbian and I remember her making me feel like I had to either be one or the other. Looking back she was manipulative because she had a crush on me but it really messed me up. I chose to be straight even though everyone always thought I was gay. Exes I’ve had were insecure about me about being with girls. And even now I’m so confused. But I think that just means I’m probably still bisexual. I just don’t know how to tell.

The way I come out as bisexual was umm not a very good idea of coming out. I posted a picture on Instagram saying I was bi and no one in my family knew until then. My mom was a little upset that I didn’t tell her and it stressed me out but everything’s okay now. She’s okay with it ha everything she just didn’t like that she found out that way. I impulsively did that and don’t recommend coming out that way lol. Hope this was helpful.

I personally hate that "It's just a phase" comment for other resons. It comes from people (most often children/teens) serching for themself and testing things others might not like or agree on. But even if it is "a phase" these peopel do what they do becose thare feelings and/or to understan those feelings. Who am I to judge other peoples feelings?
