I work at a motel. Smoke detectors are designed to not go off on smoke unless its fire smoke, but guest don't know and do it so the employees don't know they're smoking. Weed smoke, cigarettes smoke, crack smoke, never trigger it.

Bend Pak offered to give him one for free but the shop is too short and Chris stayed where he's at and bought the house rather than getting a different shop that could have accommodated one. He said he's happy with just the lift jack so good on him.

You need to change the sweep rate on the dyno. Something like 300rpm per second, then the engine won't race off to 6000 rpm right away and you'll get steadier readings.

Chris, you guys got an awesome deal on that. So many people like to talk trash about dynojets and dynapack when compared to the mustang dynos, but dynapacks give you a ton more control and safety. My tuners tell me that there are ways to calibrate it to read like a mustang dyno. Buy another two and you have an AWD dyno. Congratulations to you and your team!

It depends on what connections the system has from the dyno to the computer, could be difficult to make that work on a laptop. Also the software is installed on the computer but you may not be able to download and install the software on another computer. Could try moving the hard drive to a new computer but windows 2000 may not work with more modern hardware

I'm sure it's probably been mentioned, but just in case it wasn't... Flip that 02 pipe next time so that the pigtail is running away from the exhaust. If you start running high boost and high temps you'll melt the wires this way.. They're right in front of the main exhaust. 👍 Great job trouble shooting it and getting it working!

Most dynos are running computers from mid 2000s they are expensive to upgrade with the dyno software.

I know right, you would think you could just buy a cheap new PC and download the Dyno software on there but sometimes it is not that easy. The granite shop I work at has some CNC's that have specific PCI cards that will not interface with anything new! I was using windows 98 for the longest time! Sometimes just reseating the I/O cards in a computer will fix any issues with them as sometimes they get a bit glitchy if they haven’t been used for some time or through movement if they are aren’t secured down properly. I came across those issues many times, last time was a few weeks ago with a home computer that hadn’t been turned on for a few years and refused to start, just stripped it down and reassembled it and it started.

If you have more issues with the computer unplug everything and hit the power button a few times. It will clear any phantom power that may be keeping it from starting. Motherboard and GPU may not actually be faulty I used to see this issue a lot on older machines, especially if they had specifically designed hardware.

You may have ruled out the power supply already but all I heard was 'reduced the load' and old ATX power supplies are a pretty common cause of sudden but not permanent death. Nice purchase dude!

BMW 2002. It was called the 02 series. the 20 upfront is the engine ccm. Meaning in this case 2 liter. Other engine configurations where a 1.6 liter and a 1.8 liter naming the cars to 1602 and 1802.

Use the old data from that hdd, and swap pc. Use new hardware and make sure that the dyno software is complete files U can use that hdd as a 2nd drive and use a ssd as ur main drive

If the A/C compressor is seized,... turn off the A/C. The compressor works on a clutch. As in it doesn’t turn when the air is off. Only the pulley turns.
