Bishamonten Rematch (Low Level, Hard, Extra Enemy Turn) - SMT Nocturne HD

He's lost his voice but not his damage output.
Rules:
- EXP gain must be minimised, limited to forced encounters where possible
- Using Bright Might or Dark Might for guaranteed crits is forbidden
- Use of demons from the Maniax/Chronicle release is forbidden (This includes Fiends, Beelzebub, Black Frost, Futomimi, Metatron, Sakahagi and Dante/Raidou)
- The goal is to collect all Magatama and achieve the True Demon Ending
In order to get the final Magatama, one must first defeat the 4 Heavenly Kings in the Bandou Shrine. The only one of note is Bishamonten whom we've already met. This time he's got a bunch of new tools that make him quite an imposing foe. He has traded Hassohappa for the weaker Tempest but he also has Tarukaja, Makakaja, Debilitate, Dekaja, Maragidyne, Hellfire, Prominence, Megidolaon and Dragon Eye. He has a few patterns that he prefers to use. If he doesn't use Dragon Eye he will most often use Debilitate until he runs out of turns (so twice normally but three times here) which means that it is highly advisable to bring a demon with Dekunda. If he does use Dragon Eye it is possible that he will use Makakaja four times followed by Megidolaon, Tarukaja four times followed by Tempest or some number of either buff followed by any attacking skill. It can be very hard to survive if he spams the same buff repeatedly but thankfully War Cry can be used to keep his power down and Chimera, who naturally has it and absorbs fire, has just become available.

Was that Bead of Life usage intentional? Seemed like overkill even with low-level, and those can be a pain to re-obtain as a run saver.

It was intentional, I figure that I have enough of them for Lucifer. If I need more I know how to get them.

@@gpmegaman Basically to limit my parameters and available skills/demons. Any low level run of this game is impossible without some item farming because otherwise you won't get past Matador.

I mean, I'm pretty sure the only other thing he can do if he doesn't Dragon Eye is use Dekunda followed by one Debilitate (or two in your case), so "most often" is correct but you may as well say "he will always use" at that point I'm curious; did this guys AI break if he went 4 Makajaka into Megidolaon and no one dodged? Because I don't think he has a move listed in his AI for that attack string past turn 6, so I'm interested as to what he'd do there. I suspect he would go to default AI behaviour (which is 1/2 chance of basic attack, 1/2 chance of Agilao) but if he did drop a second Megidolaon then that'd be pretty interesting, seeing as that could never happen in regular gameplay.

@@lefthandedscout9923 Yeah the odds of all 4 hits landing are actually really low. Stealing turns with misses can be really powerful sometimes.

This fight can put out bigger bruh moments, but they can't be survived. Note that once the Demi-Fiend evaded the potentially lethal attack, the damage can fixed with one bead or healing skill. First time I attempted this fight myself, Bishamonten went first, and his turns consisted of Dragon Eye into quadruple Makakaja into a Megidoloan which killed half my party and left the remaining two members with ~20 HP each. I have a feeling Zephhyr has also experienced this sort of opening bruh moment, except the extra press turn means the Megidoloan is followed by an attack which finishes off the Endure users.

What do you think about debuffing bosses that have dekunda to force them to waste a turn using them, same for dekaja worst case scenario they remove buffs instantly wasting a turn best case scenario ur gonna keep a buff/debuff for couple turns bennefiting from them

It depends on which boss, it can be useful against Dante for example but I don't tend to bother with it against the Riders.
