@@jamesmwewa6095 Yes, but that same Jesus said in Mathew 23:23 that as you focus on the weightier matters (Love, mercy e.t.c), you should also pay your Tithes. Apostle Paul said in Galatians 6:10 that "Give most especially to members of the household of faith (the church)". Here is the question: If Jesus that has the Redemption Blood we claim can support Tithing along with weightier matters, then who are we to say we are holding on to the blood without paying Tithes?

Tithing is a convenant not a thing you think about. I pray GOD to give you the révélation. It is not just give a percentage but the FIRST use of your incomes as the sign of your reverence to the Almighty. I thought like you in the past and one day the Holy Spirit allowed me to catch the meaning and the relevance of tithing and it was as an evidence. Stay blessed

When people talk about Malachi they only speak from chapter 3, the original Bible has no chapters or verses. The Malachi is addressing the priest particularly. Tithe doesn't tie anyone to God, it was Christ that ties us to God. Pastor Abioye mentioned the old testament teaching , Jesus teaching but doesn't talk about the Apostles teaching. You can't water down what God has done through Christ by saying tithe is a covenant or something tying you to God. God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly in Christ Jesus. The history of tithe starts from Abraham when he went to war, Abraham didn't tithe all the days of his life, he did it once, Isaac didn't tithe throughout his days, Jacob made promise to God to tenth which he only did once. Giving tithe in our dispensation only enrich the preacher not the members, we have been paying it for years in Nigeria, what has been the results? God had already blessed believers, it's out of the blessing that we give generously not by paying tithe or first fruit. If you think is by paying tithe then what about the unbelievers that are prospering around you? They don't believe in what you were saying, please let's wake up. Well I don't expect much from someone that came out from the someone that says you have to give to God to prosper you.

Bishop Abioye is still mixing the Law and the Grace, which is justification by faith. He should study more, because he is outdated. There is no tithe at all. But if we assume that tithe which is the Law and we should pay, then we also need to imbibe ALL the practice of the Law. Because ALL the aspect of the Law is to be obeyed in tutu

It is important we give generously to promote the gospel, but not tithing being projected as a Christian fundamental requirement. In Mat23:23, Jesus was addressing the judaists since it was their culture. He never told his disciples to pay tithe, himself didn't pay and neither did He receive. The disciples didn't pay tithe. They emphasized on generous giving which is good for kingdom growth. Note, history has it that tithe crept back into the church through a pope (name forgotten) 8 centuries after the apostles. Learn a lesson from Mark1:40 and Rom10:12. God is generous to all, not on the basis of tithing please.

Mal.3:10 If Jesus comes today to say tithing is not necessary ill keep tithing because i saw a shift in my life after increasing from 10% to what I won't mention. ABIOYE did not disappoint in this interview. He did not disappoint by displaying his empty head. ABIOYE is so empty like d stratosphere is empty of air. ABIOYE does not know Christ, as simple as that. Even at this moment, he is still talking of his longstanding heresy that tithe ties one to God. ABIOYE is at best a motivational speaker, not a born again christian.

ABIOYE was a servant of OYEDEPO both of them being servants of Mammon, not servants of d Lord Jesus Christ. Now that ABIOYE does not any more serve OYEDEPO, ABIOYE now is a servant of his own belly. It is amazing how so many people see this man as a servant of God. It is likely they are same people that followed TB JOSHUA, that great sorcerer, magician, hostage taker, rapist, women abuser, yet he held hundreds of thousands spellbound including world presidents. Back to ABIOYE. ABIOYE is empty headed. Can't you see how he is bereft of anything God and God's word from this simple interview he came on? Very simple question, and u can see emptiness in his response. He was required to explain on basis of scriptures. He could not bcos he wasn't on d pulpit where he holds d microphone and be mesmerizing his audience with his sharp tongue he twists in motivational talk, not d gospel or d word of God, but in worldly motivational talk. He relishes title of Bishop which does not mean anything more than an elder or a brother.

To speak around something means that's not the main point. So Jesus does not see that as the main point to salvation or living right with God. Abraham paid a tenth of war proceeds. How about his day to day, year to year proceeds? There are many kinds of tithes commanded by Moses. Which one should we pay if you want to enforce that old testament part? One said the children of Israel should sell one type of tithe if they can't travel with it to give it. Sell it and use it to buy meat and wine which is ogogoro. They are to eat it, drink it and enjoy it in feast
