Bishop Patterson was a homiletical genius. I grew up listening to him on BET on Sunday mornings before attending my local COGIC. That was more than 20 years ago; now I fully appreciate the magnitude of his preaching style and its substance. His frequent preaching from OT passages seemed odd to me as a kid, but now I see his preaching was at its core a form of storytelling--the OT is full of narratives to recount, explain, and apply in a sermon. His preaching was Spirit-inspired, exegetically deft, full of COGIC church history, and aurally captivating.

If you stop goin to church over a seat then you looking for a reason to quit, ik this first hand cause I done it, it wasn't over a seat it was over some church people hurt me to my core so I started missing a service here an there an eventually I stopped all together......I would say " I'm not goin back to church cause I got hurt" but I found my way back an been goin on with lord for 2 yrs now...... my life was in shambles but God took me back an I'm thankful for tht
