@@knpowe I disagree. I think you may misunderstand the gospel; it has an inherent offense in it, as it offends the pride, self-sufficiency and self-righteousness of man. That’s why the cross, according to the Apostle Paul, it was “foolishness to the Gentiles” and “a stumbling block to Jews” (1 Cor. 1:23). The offensive nature of the cross means that you and I were so bad that God had to die for us-but that He loved us so much, He was glad to do it. The necessary offense of the cross is that you are more sinful than you would ever think, but more loved by God than you can ever imagine. “If the preaching of the cross does not offend, then it is not being preached properly.”

Once you know, you’re doing God’s work, the Holy Spirit is the only support you need. These days, you can’t count on people to help you please God and preach the gospel. I was brought up in holiness and I thank God for the many sermons that offended me. Having sxx before marriage knowing that's not how was brought up, children out of wedlock. Seem like all I ever heard were sermons on fornication. I would say to the pastor. You are stepping on my toes, but one day the sermon hit me so hard. I knew it was heaven or hell and lest I forget my mother telling me my bed was defiled and it was. Its been 35 years and I have no regrets been preaching over 21 years. That comes because of the truth❤
