Bisi Bele Bath Recipe | How to make bisibele bath | Karnataka special Bisibelebath recipe
Karnataka's number one traditional dish is here. Name of the dish is Bisibele bath. According to it's name, it tastes good if eaten hot. The main ingredients used are rice and toor dal. Spices used are red chillies, dhania, jeera, methi, hing, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, white sesame seeds, hing, urad dal and channa dal. Mainly required vegetables are carrot, beans, green peas and potato, coriander leaves and optionally onion. Rice is cooked with chopped vegetables and dal by adding water more than usual, but whistles required are same as usual. At the end, tempering is added with jaggery and tamarind and required salt. Once it boils, the Bisibele bath becomes ready.
Ingredients:
Toor dal 1/2 cup
Raw rice 1 cup
Salt to taste
water 8cups
tamarind
jaggery
for powder:
Dhania seeds 4 tsp,
jeera seeds-1 tsp,
urad dal 1 tsp,
gram dal 1 or 1&1/2 tsp,
methi- 1/2 tsp,
cinnamon- 1/2 inch piece,
cloves-5-6,
cardamom- 1/4 tsp,
pepper- 10,
red chillies- 4-5,
oil-1 tsp,
white sesame seeds-1 tsp
hing small size
veggies:
carrot
beans
potato
tomatoes
onion
soaked green peas
coriander leaves
for tempering:
Ground nuts
mustard
urad dal
red dry chillies
curry leaves
