I sold my bismark after grinding my butt off to get it. discovered i could rarely hit anything 10 k away and most folks know enough to stay out of secondary range. Plus, 9 of 10 battles are teir 10 battles, at that point the bismark becomes source of easy points for the enemy team. guns are too small to hurt a t10 bb and not accurate enough to hit anything smaller on a regular basis. and now that there cv's in almost every game the whole german bb line is a waste of time.

Bismarck is fine for T8, unless CVs are everywhere it isn't really scared of anything else at its tier. It can use its great armor and fast firing guns to bully out equal or lower-tier ships. Bismarck suffers badly from two things though- iffy AA/deck protection and long range engagements. Iffy AA means you're a damage pinata for CVs, obviously. It can handle itself against a single T6 CV no problem, but struggles against even one T8 or especially T10 CVs. Then there's its issue engaging at range. Guess what the T10 meta is? Park at range and trade shots for 15 minutes. Really fun when your guns can't hit in the same postal code 99% of the time.

Bismarck can be a lot of fun when everything Lines up but majority of time you will be bottom tiered and trying to shoot a cruiser full broadside getting 1 pin and maybe two bounces every thing else just goes around the ship. I for one hate feeling like it doesn’t matter how well I play that the game gets to decide if do well or not due to rng.

It's my single biggest complaint with all "world of" games. In tanks, as arty, you find completely stationary targets, wait til fully zoomed in, aim circle is super tight, still misses. Going entire games without a single hit because all your rounds landed at the edge of your aim circle....... The same with Wows. Being close to a broadside bb, in my Biz, under 8km away, them sailing half speed, aim mid-Hull and watching all my rounds land in the water on BOTH sides of the red.... Mean while I'll be bow on to an enemy BB who is broadside and seeing all his rounds land center mass of my ship, nothing in the water.... RNG can suck a dick.

Played a T8 match, for once, a T6 and a T8 CV one both teams. The four CVs were the only ships to survive the match. Out of the 20 ships that were sunk that match 11 of them were sunk by a CV. Obviously the majority of the 11 were sunk by the T8 CVs. It was my last match for the night and I haven't been on since. It was straw that broke the camel's back.

They should have got the mechanics sorted out in PT before bringing to the live servers, I won't waste money on premium time until they make the game fun again.

I think CVs should have the same concealment as a BB. It's not right that such a large ship as a CV has better concealment than most cruisers. All of a sudden a CV player has to actually care where their ship is and BBs suddenly become more relevant.

@@aimu_1111 annnd that's a bad thing because? A CV has a lot of crowd control power. Keeping a DD perma-spotted while raining death with no way to reciprocate is kinda unbalanced as well. In WOT's, arty need to rely on other tanks to spot for them. In Wows, most other ships rely on others for effective gameplay, but CVs are basically just solo players who can have a very strong influence on the beginning of the game with no consequence. By reducing CV's concealment, more pressure is put on CVs to keep moving and it gives the enemy team some ability to counter them earlier in the game. A DD still has to move up to get the spot, and by doing so put itself at risk because typically, that means they have no AA support. It also means less games where the final 5 mins are a blob of people looking for the last CV tucked into some corner of the map.

@Notser Regarding the 'sunken Bismarck' cammo; I have the coffee table book about the exploration of the wreck of Bismarck done by Dr. Robert Ballard in 1989. I compared the damage seen on the model Bismarck in-game with the actual photos from the wreck, and the artists rendering based on the photos, and I'll tell you they nailed it. Right down to the massive penetration on the conning town, and the plunging shells that hit the fore deck. I really have to applaud WG for their work in that rendering, and wanted to share that with you.

TomHolmez12 don’t do it trust me Bismarck is only fun when you get blessed with MM I would say 80% of the time you are in tier 10 battles and can’t get within 12km of an enemy burning down at 17km from cruisers that you couldn’t hope to hit is no fun it was the worst ship I’ve had to grind through so far and this includes Konigburg

This CV rework has made such an impact on the overall enjoyment of the game for some people. The thing I love about German BB's is their ability to go out on the map and brawl. I personally love the secondary build on my BISMARCK so I'm not gonna mount extra AA and sacrifice a good secondary build. If i have to DIE to help my team then so be it. But you know your playing this ship the right way when you've used all your consumables and have barely any health left.

For the focus sector for the aa I just focus on the sector facing away from the direction the aircraft is coming from. I got this from past experiences.

I loved WOWS, I moved from WOT as that game got too bad with op tanks, bad maps gold shells. So WOWs was great a balanced game for all ship types and then they changed how cv are and wow how to kill a game over night. So many of my friends stopped playing. CV are like arty but 10 times worse, they rule over dd's many games with 2 cv per side and its so hard to play when you are out spotted by a player who can put wave after wave of planes on you with little or no recourse. Well its clear Wargaming yet again listen to the few to fuck off the many. You never see a cv killed by another cv its not even worth playing DD anymore and ranked battles now have cv in them thanks but no thanks Wargaming, in less than a year you have made me quit 2 games that I had been playing for over 8 years!!!

My FDG is specced for nothing in particular. I got a bit of bonuses for everything, and it works well in almost every situation. Sure, I wish the MB were a bit more accurate, but even if one of the 420s hits I get a decent amount of damage. And usually cruisers don't bother to dodge when I engage them at long range, which frequently results in surprise citadels on Zaos, Hindenburgs and Des Moines(es?).

Interesting to see CV's surviving until the end of a match, again :) Most games seem to end with 4 CV's carrying out drops against one another. I always thought the longer I survive the more impact I have on the outcome of a match but according to WGing CV's have been changed so they don't have a huge impact on the match outcome :) Therefore this can't be true, next game I'll just YOLO or hang back and snipe from behind the CV's :)

I really enjoy using the Bismark right now, but I do have one complaint: The accuracy. In real life, this beauty of a ship, was a very accurate ship, much like the USS Iowa. Are either of these ships reflected in the game? Iowa *kinda* is. Bismark is not. I feel like if the Bismark's accuracy was better and more true to real life, she could hold off better against T10's (as you face those a lot) and could at least hold her own to some degree. Maybe not the most powerful guns, but she could still put dents and holes in the T10's armor. That's my opinion at least.

I wish that Bismarck was more accurate but dealt less damage per shot so if you wanna maximize dmg you would have to get close to get secondaries in range but at least Bismarck would be more flexible in certain situations which it currently isn’t.

With the CVs as they are, a lot of German BBs feel like they are struggling. Especially the Bismarck, the AA doesn't feel like it is all that affective and you can not hit things with any kind of consistency with your main battery. I still love to use Bismarck (I have him overtaking my Scharnhorst in games played), heck I can even survive tier ten games in him (sometimes I do well, most of the time I end up being CV bait) and still have fun (except when CV bait, that just means I get to practice drunk sailing). Maybe something could be done for the Germans when they get their national event? Would be nice (maybe, you never know with WG).

So damage taken is interesting..68k from shells 19k ish from torps/bombs/rockets and 27k from fires. How much of the fire damage is from the CVs I don't know but not all of it. And you are telling me CVs are overpowering?

I do think you are missing out on something by not going for a secondary build on the Bismarck Notser. Yes, her AA is definitely not the best in class, but a full secondary build with BFT and AFT do augment the AA quite a bit. Plus her secondaries are still amazing IMO. But hey, whatever floats your Bismarck, right?

the fact that your AA guns can be lost throughout the game, yet CVs get unlimited planes that go 300 knots. They broke this game so much... Remember the good ole days? When you could punish a broadside cruiser, use your AA properly, CVs had a limited supply of planes... man this game used to be fun. I just have too much invested now to completely give it up lol

I think it's only fair to make the AA guns regenerate over time. Make it a long time, but the fact that taking a couple volleys of HE early on can make you helpless CV bait is screwed up. I play CV's regularly and it doesn't seem right to me that my planes come back over time but any AA damage on a ship is eternal. Making it 120-180 seconds to fix them (independent timing on repairs for each mount) would give a CV a window of opportunity to exploit it, but prevent the situation I've seen where one of my BB's or CA's punches out 80% of a ships AA in the first couple of minutes and they can't do anything while I kill them for 1-0 plane losses.

The infinite planes on CVs idea is completely stupid, that plus the ability to instantly scramble a new whole squadron of the same planes when none are destroyed without even a delay to "rearm", specially against something with shit tier AA, planes of the same type of squadron taking off even without the ones out not being remotely close to the CV, or instantly scrambling a different squadron without any delay, even when planes are landing is what is making CVs son incredibly annoying to play against, specially when you're against 2 of them... I wouldn't mind they having higher alpha, if I can play even 1 flipping minute without them flying over, I mean ffs put rearming cycles to them, do not let them scramble a same type squadron without the returning planes being 10km away, or even putting a delay while the squadron lands/take off, heck, even limit the amount of planes and give them more HP so they can fly for more time and keep their squadrons healthy...heck I even preferred being 100% to 0% in the old CV style, than being annoyed for 15 flipping minutes by them until my HP pool is empty and they can keep spawning infinite planes...
