Bo is a world class folk style wrestler, but wrestling in MMA is quite different than NCAA wrestling, Dricus is far more experienced than Bo in MMA, Dricus is no slouch in the grappling department himself, and perhaps most importantly, Dricus is a _massive_ middleweight, while Bo is actually quite small for the division. To be honest I’m somewhat surprised Bo isn’t doing the weight cut to fight at 170. There I think he could rag doll pretty much everyone. But rag dolling guys the size of Dricus or Paulo Costa, I’m just not seeing it. Not saying he can’t beat them, just that he wouldn’t be able to manhandle them the way you’re picturing.

Can't wait to see Bo actually fight a great fighter to see how he does. I can tell the UFC is trying to slow build him as all his fights including this next one coming up are with sub par fighters no one has really ever heard of. All I got to say right now is... It's kinda weird that Bo opens the 300 main card, I would have preferred Jim Miller and Bobby Green for that spot simply due to pedigreee and awesome sauce. But Bo is already a better competitor than Colby "chaos" Covington... And somehow Colby has been on the top of a division for half a decade despite the fact that he has not really earned the position anymore than Nostradamus has. I think a slower career is beneficial for the vast majority of the fighters, even if gold medaliat or really high level in a specific discipline it doesn't mean they are overall great fighters. There are some exceptions like Pereira, but watching closely he was fed strikers and had some some time to prepare for a better grappler (blackowitz or how the hell is written).

@@jasonwebb6484 Pereira is one of my favourite fighters, I wasn't talking down to him. Compared to MMA strikers Jiri and specially Adesanya are the best, but it's all relative. When you have a 2x times world kickboxing champion both jiri and Adesanya don't carry the same weight. We are not talking Bruson or Vettori dealing with them but the cream of the crop in that particular discipline. For example I think Vettori would have been a more hostile opponent than strickland, not because he's overall better but because at that particular point Pereira had little experience with grappling. I think the UFC created the perfect path for the Adesanya Vs Pereira fight: great story, great characters, unfinished business and all that jazz. I don't think Pereira randomly encountered those particular fighters, just like MVP didn't meet Kevin Holland by chance, it's a show, some fights are clearly based on the characteristics of each fighter.

And if the UFC threw Nickal in with top 10, the same guys who whine about who he's fought already, would cry that he didn't deserve a top 10. By your logic, he wouldn't deserve a shot against Chimaev because he's ranked 25 spots ahead of Nickal. Rankings are determined by sports media and has nothing to do with how long a fighter has been in the UFC. At this stage in his MMA career, Brundage is the more seasoned MMA fighter. Period. As far as the comment Bo made about Khamzat's wrestling? He's not lying. Nickal is a level above but I'll give you this, this isn't just wrestling. I get it, his arrogance caused by his confidence can be annoying, but the dude is a grappling freak. With power in his hands and an innate understanding of the submission game. Brundage is exactly the fight he needs. Then a couple in the top 15 and a couple in the top 10. If he's dominant in those four fights, start setting him up for title contention. I'll leave it at this which goes back to the beginning of my post. Nickal called for a fight against Khamzat (Costa backup) when hardly no one else did or does. The UFC and Chimaev shut that down.
