This is one of my childhood vacuum cleaners because of that classic healthy home vacuum motor😃😃😃

Here we are in 2024 now and I'm still in love with both the Healthy Home and Heavy Duty vacs. My place is two story and I have one upstairs and another downstairs, as it's kinda heavy to lug up and down stairs, plus wanted to extend the life of each. In addition, I have two spare vacuums and a broken one in the garage for parts, for a total of 5. I'm still using the original blue/grey model you reference weekly for upstairs vacuuming. I think it's from 2008 or 9. Downstairs, I use the black/yellow you show here. This series of vacuum has everything I want in a vacuum and think it would be hard to adapt to a different model. One trick I can pass along that's helped me is to periodically "back flush" the HEPA filter by removing it and using an air compressor with mid-level pressure to blow the opposite way of the air path. You'll see quite a bit of debris come out of it, be sure to do outdoors and I personally use an N95 3M mask as well. I've tried cleaning them with water, but once HEPA material gets wet, it's never quite the same and you risk tearing. The back flush method can really extend the life of the filter.

the best choice would be a shark rotator because they have great performance, great filtration and amazing accesories. and is so versatile.

I used to own one of these. I think they're great. Better than any other bagless Bissell. For the the price it's at, the performance, build quality and features are very impressive but it is definitely very bulky and heavy. I'd take one of these any day over a single cyclonic Shark, despite the fact that they may be more user friendly.

Mitchell Krenzer It is a good machine, and yes it's SUPER bulky, and we have a new rug now that's pretty plush. I haven't even used this thing since I made the video. I got it for my mom so she would stop using the excuse that she didn't have a vacuum and she knew I'd be made if she broke one of mine. I only paid 80$ for this new from Walmart because they messed the shipping up multiple times I got 40% off. I personally wouldn't recommend this over a shark because you can't clean this vacuum out cyclone wise. Also the filter on the side needs to be replaced regularly

Actually, as long as they haven't changed the design, you CAN clean the cyclones. It requires a screwdriver though. I would cut a Hepa bag and fit it UNDER the foam filter. You won't have to change the final hepa filter for a long time after that. Shark hepa filters seem to fill fairly quickly as well.

Mitchell Krenzer but the intent of Bissell was not for people to take the cyclone apart with a screw driver. just like the early models dysons. they weren't made for customers to take apart. screws strip, and they weren't intended to be taken apart regularly. and I wouldn't advise you to put a hepa bag in to act as an additional filter. it can cause the motor to work over hard to expel the air from the vacuum causing it to over heat. or prematurely wear out. especially if the hepa bag piece gets dirty. it will still need to pass through the filter

John Smith I understand your point, I'm just pointing out that it is possible to clean it, albeit it is a bit difficult to do. I also understand your point about the hepa bag, but I experienced absolutely no difficulty in putting one layer of hepa cloth material under the foam filter. There wasn't any noticeable loss in airflow and the motor didn't show any signs of straining. I believe Tom Gasko did something similar with one of his Bissell machines.

But again, I do think that to compare, the Shark is more user friendly. They are clearly on the right track. What they need to do NOW is to design a system that doesn't load up the primary filters with fine dust almost instantaneously. I honestly don't understand why Shark, being at the top of their game, won't take advantage of the multi cyclonic technology virtually every other vacuum brand uses.

hello, I have the original healthy home I've had it for almost 9 years, it's getting old and needs to be replaced soon. I was looking at the the Shark Rotator or Navigator, my question is, if I get a Shark am I going to be disappointed by the performance or the accessories? I really love the healthy home and it's worked well for me I'm looking for something as good or better.
@JohnSmithNE34788 жыл бұрын
DanTDMfan828 ZombieWarsSMTfan828 honestly I would recommend a full size shark. don't buy a navigator liftaway. I'd recommend a rotator because it's the one I have
@JohnSmithNE34787 жыл бұрын
DanTDMfan828 ZombieWarsSMTfan828 I'd definitely say the sharks are better. pay attention to the hose your getting on any shark model. I haven't a powered lift away. it has a large handle which can get in the way when trying to clean tight areas. I've also found the filters get dirty fast on any shark. you can wash them. but go on Amazon and look up the replacement filters to have extras, they are cheap and washable also

Hi there, I was wondering if you could help me. I have the same vacuum cleaner and I love it however, while I'm able to detach the dirt container to dump it, I am not able to get the top portion to release the cylinder with all of the holes so I can clean that too.. I lift the clear latch and it comes halfway detached, can't see where to release the opposite side :(

Why don't they make the heavy duty and the healthy home

I think it a point in time people stop liking large vacuums like these.people like the lightweight full power type of package nowadays
