Please be aware that there has been a recall regarding multiple models of the Bissell Steam Shot. This goes back quite a few years. Details can, no doubt, be found online. Safety first!!

I bought an offbrand steamer. It looks just like the bissel except for the grout cleaner. My issue with my machine is the difficulty getting the steam cap on and off. I have arthritis so this makes it more difficult. It could be that I am not getting the cap on correctly. I wish the water container was see-through so I can tell much water is in there before I add more. I know. I have high expectations. 😁

Make sure the machine has cooled down before taking the cap off to refill.

Unfortunately, after an hour of use, it stopped steaming.. returned it and got redunded.. im definitely buying thia one next time..

I’m curious if your required to put the water in tepid or room temp? I wonder if tackling a larger or grimier area if you could have a warmed kettle on for refills to speed up the “heating” time in unit, I’m not suggesting a whistling kettle but one that got up say when you first started the task with tap and then was turned off and sat waiting to refill unit. Any thought? Thanks for the video!
@CleanFreakGermaphobe2 жыл бұрын
Actually yes! You can start with hotter water and it’ll take less time to heat up. I’ve been doing that more when I use tap water. Just turn the faucet as hot as it can get first.

@@CleanFreakGermaphobe thanks so much for the reply! Have you noticed any calcium or hard water build up using tap over distilled? I would think using a touch of vinegar in the water could address that, thoughts?

@CleanFreakGermaphobe Жыл бұрын
Great question! A full size steam cleaner such as the Dupray Neat can clean much longer between refilling the water tank, has attachments like a steam mop and can hold much more water. Follow this link cleanfreakandgermaphobe.com/dupray-neat-steam-cleaner/ to learn more and to get the link to the Neat. I've had mine for several years. I use it for longer deep cleaning and for my car. I use the Bissell for quick jobs.
@musicclassc78443 жыл бұрын
Great video! Can you compare it with Dupray steamer especially for bathrooms?
@CleanFreakGermaphobe3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much. I mean this is for smaller jobs and it's light and quick. Dupray is still my favorite but sometimes you just need something quick and easy. The Dupray can mop, reach further, has the triangle tool to cover more surface area (like a whole shower). Plus you don't need to hold down the steam trigger. You can push a button on the handle and it stays on. So it really depends on budget and how you clean. If it's short and more frequent then the Bissell. If you're doing more deep cleaning for longer than 20 minutes and want to mop, the Bissell will get tedious to keep refilling. Hope that helps!

Does not putting the extender make the steam that comes out hotter? I put the pointy thing on and it doesn't seem very hot unless I put my hand very close.
@CleanFreakGermaphobe Жыл бұрын
Yes any attachment that takes water further away from the boiler in the center also cools it. A larger machine like the Dupray Neat will get hotter and hold more water. cleanfreakandgermaphobe.com/dupray-neat-steam-cleaner/ but it's more pricey.

Can you use this to take grease off of kitchen cabinets ?
@CleanFreakGermaphobe2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it would work well for that. I would use the nylon brush with a microfiber cloth over it to prevent scratching. If you have a lot of cupboards and the budget a larger one will be much faster (we could recommend one) and use a triangle tool. We have a video where I demo cleaning cabinets with another steam cleaner. Check it out here kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXW9iZigecSHn9U and there’s a link in the description to the steamer I used. You don’t have to hold down the button to get steam. It locks on. That will save you on bigger cleaning jobs. And you won’t have to refill and wait for it to heat up again like on this smaller one.

The steam will soften and could spread it out. If is getting out small amounts embedded into a hard surface, then yes. There are better methods like a carpet cleaner for soft surfaces.

Seems like these reviews always choose places and things unusably filthy so any steamer would produce results better then how it looked originally but what about normal households that don't have a bunch of filthy...how does the steamer work on everyday dirt not filth from abandoned or empty apartments.. That's the true test.

These machines are used exactly on those occasions. It only lasts 15 minutes, you cannot use it for everyday cleaning. Their use is for stubborn dirt. I only use it when I have to clean things like the hood metal filters, for other, more often uses you should use those which can be refilled without having to unplug them.
