The power of editing changes the perception of how much time, physical and mental energy is consumed with preparation and actually fencing, hooking up equipment, walking, repairs, lifting, bending, and so many other tasks to begin listing. It takes self motivation to enjoy the success of a family owned business. You guys do a fantastic job. Thanks for sharing your lives.

A bar similar to your Tanya Harding bar almost killed me. My wife was brush hogging and hit the bar. It cut off a piece a few inches long and threw it right at me. It banged off, and dented, the roll cage right over my head inside the UTV I was driving. I was well over 50 ft away. We had no idea the pipe was in the grass or why it was there.

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting. Nice work doing that fencing. You and your dad are super fence builders. Excellent teamwork between you two. Fencing is not easy work but you both doing it with ease. Like those drive thru gates you put in. Makes it easier to get in and out of the pasture. Nice looking fence when done. That barb wire that snapped could have been dangerous. Lucky you both were out of the way. Ouch if that catches you. New wire should not break. Your calf pen looks nice all cleaned up. Ready for more calf’s. You keep your cow lots in real nice shape. My compliments to you both. Thanks for everything Cole. You both take care and be safe. Thanks. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

Talking about fencing, when I was still farming, we used Gaucho wire for years. It is a high tensile wire, with very aggressive barbs and being high tensile wire, it rarely ever went loose. You could stretch the hell out of it without breaking. It also didn't rust. Great wire.
@LordoftheOzarks Жыл бұрын
Gaucho is just a brand name, and its not known to be great quality. Thats why its cheap. Red Brand is *supposed* to be the highest quality heavy-gauge barbed wire there is. I use it myself. It should never break like that under tension.

I hear what your saying about the barbed wire, but I guess the choices out there isn't much different. I have some issues with the T post too, the older ones are more durable and less prone to breaking or losing the bottom bracket. I used a 3 point post driver back in the 70's, they really got the job done back then, but the ones on the skid loaders are really versatile. Enjoyed watching, thanks and have a good evening!

Brings back memories, putting up new fences. I actually found a way to clip the wire to the post easily and fast. Of all things, I used a paint can opener, tide it around my neck and away I went. I found the fencing players just to cumbersome.

Can you do a tutorial on building fence? I know you have done it in the past just quick over veiw. But one telling how you build your H braces and what post to put where as well and how many spaced. Not many people build fence themselves but learning a skill you all have learned over the years would help a lot of people.

We put in a mile long stretch about a month ago n had red brand barb wire. The very first roll we used got about half through it n came to a spot where instead of 2 wires twisted together there was only 1 and about 100 of the barbs all bunched together. It was like this for about 60 feet then went back to normal again. Starting to think theres no quality control anymore.
