Bitcoin has now broken into new territory, heading towards $90,000 a token.

First you need to understand what money actually is. I'm not trying to be rude but that you refer to I assume fiat currency as "REAL money" exposes that you don't yet know. Fiat currency is not money. I recommend watching the excellent Hidden Secrets of Money episode 4 for a good grounding. The whole series is well worth a watch. Bitcoin is closer to a digital form of gold, which is money. Why anyone would ever want to go backwards from an apex form of money to an inferior form of currency is beyond me. Study more, you'll get there. It takes time.

This is why practically every ransomware extortion, every dark net transaction, every kidnapping fee (et cetera) is demanded in crypto currency. And even in the cases where you can track the crypto, you're still powerless to do anything about someone moving the money into a foreign account with a false identity. It's easy to move money around so much it becomes almost impossible to track. But there are also more sophisticated ways to do it. What you're talking about is street level crime, which is done with cash because the theft and transactions that happen on street level are still mainly physical. Although, that's changing too.
