Yeah Darius was younger in that scene. This whole cinematic is happening in diffirent times. Darius was sent to the Freljord before Swain took the throne. Katarina sent to the Silkdance to kill someone after Swain took the throne. And probably during the Mel's time. Swain still not on the throne. Which means... The invasion of Ionia didn't happened yet. Because Darius went to the Freljord at the same time as the invasion of Ionia.

crazy how they send their stronger warrior to freljord while invading Ionia i guess the view that Ionia was a peaceful land and wouldnt fight back has a role in that

@JPClow3 Yeah but Darius doesn't have as much experience as Swain. Swain was a better tactician. Darius could be strong but eventually he is just a strong man. In War you need more than just strenght I guess..

@@JPClow3he mostly earned that reputation in the Freljord campaign, to my understanding. In some ways, his appearance here is a continuation of his Tales of Runeterra storyline. The backgrounds look a lot like Urtis, which was the kingdom on the Noxian frontier featured in that cinematic. Would also make sense if Urtis was northern territory.

​@@JPClow3 Won't say anything concrete as the new season might retcon it, but Darius most likely only became who he is theough Freljord - prior to that he was someone people knew of but not as strong, feared, or famous. P.S. If Darius invaded Ionia and met Yi, as he's a frontline warrior more than a strategic backline general, he'd be dead.

While Darius is younger, he's far form being a kid. He's eithher in his late 20's or early 30's even here. In current timeline he's in his late 30's/ early 40's.

Why does Noxus want to take over Freljord? It's a divided land ruled by 3 major tribes, there ain't no politics here. And I find it hilarious that they only sent the trolls to defend the border XD

More likely repelling raids from the trolls. Noxus borders Freljord

It was probably more for long term security than anything related to resources or conquest. Freljordians both human and otherwise have a nasty habit of raiding territories near the border, so Noxus probably sent Darius to wipe them out. If they could secure territory and resources, that would be a nice bonus, but the point was probably just getting rid of the Raiders.

Trolls also value strength overall they probably said: "Sent your strongest warrior we will do the same, and however wins get it all" something like that. Thats why nobody interfeered

Actually Freliord is way way lower in their priority, the reson Darius is there is because this cinematic is showing the suicide mission Leblanc sent Darius to. Because remember Darius is one of the tri-force of noxus

I really dislike the music choice of riot. It kinda ruins every cinematic. Like why are we playing some girly pop music when badass characters are fighting?
