Bitronic Super Hoop Pinball Machine | Review, Gameplay & Buyers Guide

Super hoop was introduced at the 2019 Chicago Pinball Expo, along with Tokyo Drift and Captain Nemo. It was a beautiful experience. Both Antonio Ortuño and I, who am an illustrator, made the pinball in record time, it took 3 months of work against the clock to present it.

Glad to see someone appreciate this machine for what it has to offer (which is already a lot) at that pricepoint. I own one for a year or so i paid even cheaper at that time (around 4600 euros) and am very pleased with it. Simple and fun to play, very nice design quality, and very easy to maintain as parts are standard (even the motherboard is home pc-based and can be swapped easily for a cheap price in case of serious problem with it)... I never could understand the hate for this machine on US forums where it's heavily criticised by people who haven't even played it just basing their opinions on the assumption it's an unlicensed (original IP) spanish made machine so it has to be bad. That tends to be ridiculous at times especially when the same people are proud to own 35 years old williams system 11 pinball machines in their lineup they paid roughly the same price as this brand new Super Hoop and have a similar shallow ruleset that's easy to handle. So that makes it even more puzzling 🤔

I feel ya. First, it has to be a recognizable IP or based on a band that came out in the '60s. LOL But seriously, I feel this way with the Jurassic Park Home Edition. People liked it but "the screen was too small". I came here to play pinball, not to stare at a screen. I feel like great or underrated games fly under the radar because most pinball players immediately judge them without playing them.

@@chadalexander1924 Yeah Jurassic Park Home Edition is a blast to play. I love it and Jack Danger did a tremendous job with the design making it fun to shoot as well as compelling with a decent ruleset. The screen size has indeed no importance as long as you can read your score on it at the end of the game 😄. And by the way we used to have some games in the past with fairly tiny screens like Data East Hook or Ninja Turtles though, no-one complained too much about them then as far as i recall 🤔

@@thierrydelage1681 Did Jack Danger design the home edition JP did he? I thought Foo Fighters was his machine. But maybe it's just his full sized standard edition machine design. 🤷‍♂

@@28russ yes JD very first project at Stern as a designer was the Home Edition of Jurassic Park. Foo Fighters is the first cornerstone pinball he has been working on but his second pinball design since he's on the payroll.

I hope the company gets a bit of traction soon as this is great. Toyko neo drift looked a great game and hopefully they go back and do a run. Their first game , Captain Nemo was a nice looking game too. For local people to get a game for under 5k I hope they do well and it is a pity a UK company can't do something similar. Team Pinball could have done something good with The Mafia but oh well

Take a closer look on the playfield, it's covered by ~3mm Acryl / Plexiglass... The question is, how long are parts from Bitronic aviable? I didn't find a store with parts...

The left ramp should be more curved. If it was, it would be a smoother shot, like the fat ramp from the upper flipper of Avengers Infinity Quest.

Looks a lot likes Tales from the Crypt. Good start imho.

Ah good point. But with much more forgiving shots. Tales has some nasty shots. (but I still love it)

Maybe it isn't so much that they've skimped on anything and more that Stern and JJP etc are just overpriced. Never heard of the company but the game looks interesting anyway. And good to see a bit more competition in the market. 🤷‍♂🤔

What bothers me in this game, is the generic rock music, which doesn’t fit the theme well, and the callouts done by some Spanish dude. Surely it’s not too difficult to find/hire a native English speaking voice actor for a fair price? That alone puts me off before I have even looked at the playfield.

Hehehe that's true the callouts could have been done much better hiring a native english speaking actor. Though it seems even big US companies such as Jersey Jack Pinball made the same choice with their latest "The godfather" pin in which all the callouts are made by an american dude trying to fake an italian accent and that sounds super weird too 😀

They are a Spanish manufacturer, so they hired a Spanish native to do the callouts, they’re a small company, so it was probably someone on the design team that did the call outs.
