Good for you making the best choice (imo) for your family; family is always first. No matter what you think of him as a player, the fact that he negated a trade to his hometown team which is also a much smaller distance away from his family than where he is going now, the fact that he did everything to make sure that he was with them as long as possible shows that his priorities were right. I am a die hard ranger fan, I bleed blue. I enjoyed having Jake as the ranger captain. I felt he played hard and from his heart. On social media he’s become a scapegoat for all the rangers problems (and there are plenty), this is not fair. People are oversimplifying the issues and throwing Trouba under the bus. I’ve been a Ranger fan since the early 70’s. Brad Park was the strength of the blue line. This move was bittersweet. Jacob is a good defender, but has lost a step in the past couple years. Good move but not sure how the Rangers blue line will be going forward.

He did this to himself. He could of been back home in Michigan playing for Detroit while his wife finishes up her job doing what she does in New York. Im pretty sure his parents would of loved to help out in the situation, so, again he did this to himself. Now he is out in the west coat far away from New York. I do feel bad about it but he should of taken advantage of the trade staying closer to his wife. Many teams wanted him on their roster, when clearly the Rangers did not want him.

Seriously go look at the contracts for next year. 7 pending RFAs including Kaako and 3 UFAs that include Lindgren and Smith. Almost 7m in cap space so might make serious moves at the deadline.
