Why there is a need for an EV in the first place, to reduce carbon emissions right?
But what if I tell you that American EVs are so powerful that some of these are as polluting as petrol cars?
In this video, we will try to find the answer to the question which is, Why American EVs are “Irresponsibly” powerful?

Bhaiyya you got something wrong. America is "big" because of cars and suburban development. Even they don't need bigger vehicles but they do buy them, because it's the shitty mentality of safeguarding yourself against other person, basically like keeping guns. It's the same mentality of "agar humari phortooner thuk gai to hum to Bach jayenge aage wala marega". I don't like this mentality because it has made the CSUVs popular in India as well, which aren't proper offroaders neither good sedans/city vehicles and are massively congestion causing on Indian roads. This mentality if we continue in India then we will also move towards larger and larger vehicles and it will cause more traffic congestion just like American cities, which bleed money because everything is low density and causes massive monitory losses. Americans will literally do anything except build train lines and affordable housing. It's dumb. I hope you read this comment.

If avg Indians have salary of 40-60 lakhs, which is equivalent of per capita income in many developed nations, and you get option of 10 lakh costly nexon, and 45 lakh costly tesla, then what they are going to buy? Perfectly explained. The other day I had an argument with some European and American friends of mine who had bought EVs in the past 1 or 2 years. They were all gaga about their 0 to 100 kph timings but very few showed interest in range vs speed. I told them about tata nexon EV on road cost, charging cost and range and speed , and many of them were attracted towards cost vs real life usability of nexon over Tesla or other EVs. Many commented that if they got nexon in Europe and USA with a range of 500 kms at the cost which is marginally higher than what we get in India, then they would be more than happy to own it. An electric car which has a real life practical range of 800 kms and charging time of 8 hours normal and 1 hour hypercharge at an affordable price would sell like a magic even if it does 0 to 100 kph in 12 seconds and has a top speed locked at 120 kmph....

I found it odd that you mentioned battery capacity being high is necessary for quickly accelerating cars While the need for these cars is high energy output from battery,having an big battery helps a lot but one can also achieve much quicker acceleration with small batteries too,depends on battery chemistry to deliver high energy output,it's more like capacitors which do not hold large amount energy but can deliver the stored energy in the moment of notice. The main reason for big batteries though is as you mentioned US is big,they like big cars so they need an car that can travel big distance with minimum charge cycles.
@jev_
@jev_ 2 жыл бұрын
You dont understand what's the use of that battery which gives high output and drains in few hours, high output depends on capacity, smaller capacity battery will never give high output as it will fck up range, so thats why he said bigger battery can give higher acc or high output and is unnecessary cause they can just adjust it to increase efficiency or range

There is literally one country in the world that is making fun and awesome electric powered cars and that is USA. Why do you want to crash their party? Let them have their fun man. It's not an enjoyable experience to drive a boring ass car be it gas powered or electric, which is the case here in India. Even if most of us use our 20 years of savings we can only get a boring fortuner which is a 200 BHP car. And that thing is barely fun to drive. So instead of trying to impose what others should do because of your socialistic views on carbon emissions. Let them have their fun and if you are really so concerned about carbon emissions or super powerful cars then, you make sure that you don't buy those cars. You are free to buy whatever you see fit based on your socialistic and environmental views. But don't go out there trying to tell others what they should or shouldn't be doing with the money and resources that they have.

In US, 0-60 mph pickup is important during entering on an Interstate. Where everyone is already coming at 60-80 mph speed and you are merging into it. And since most of the US cities have Interstates going through them and people use them to commute from home to work, the pickup matters. 2L engine is mandatory and 3L engine is comfortable. That being said, insane amount of Engine capacity and HP is unnecessary. That’s just show off at the end.

American engines have always been less power dense. However it is somewhat necessary to have at least 150 bhp in cars in America since the road speeds are significantly higher than India. A higher powered engine will be under less stress during high speeds resulting in better fuel efficiency. If you compare driving a 1.5L turbo sedan with around 150 bhp (virtus, verna etc) to an American equivalent like Toyota Corolla with 2L NA engine with almost the same power (168 bhp), at highway speeds (120-130 kmph), the bigger engine will be more efficient.

We can focus on reducing weight in EV so the hp required will be reduced. This will result in getting more range from lower KWh batteries. In the end we need to commute not race.

Instead of switching to electric cars .. countries should plan infrastructure to promote public transport, biking, walking. US should allow more mixed-use development. Unfortunately, India is creating new cities copying US suburbs which is going to be unsustainable for our huge population.

But these are needed to inspire new people and increase sales of EVS in future. No one gets inspired by Prius or Reva. Tesla cracked this desirability factor earlier all other cars used to look like toys and use to be painted in bright green and blue colours. People want sexy cars but buy reasonable cars so sexy cars do have a place. 😀

pickup trucks me ja bhp is liye hoti hai bcz unhe torque ki jarurat hoti hai aur motor me itna torque nhi hota isliye agar unhe torque badhana hai to power bhi badhani hogi aur kisi bhi ev me range badhane ke liye battery badhani padegi jisse vajan badhega to torque ki jada jarurat padegi varna ye gadi ek highway tak nhi chadh paengi

American car brands usually produce unreliable cars! 😂 Only if powerful engine and looks matter Then why American companies failed outside USA??? 😂🤡

You should have also talked about ride quality, design and wow factor of a car. You can’t justify a 40 kWh Tata ev with a Tesla masterpiece. Common 40 kwh? See how VW or Mercedes is approaching the EVs. In India we don’t focus on world class product rather we prefer “Sastha” “Juggard”.

the crux of the argument is that focus more on trying to eke out the maximum range out of a battery pack rather than extracting more power from it- in everyday use vehicles

4:04 , that dodge challenger RT is not sedan its muscle car which are very very heavy and thus have han 5.2Km/l milage , (R.I.P 1969-2023 , my all time favourite muscles car 😢)they are being discontinued due to strictly law of stop making ICE engine till 2035 ) its only its beginning , for even then v6 303 horsepower isnt enough , there are many variant like Hellcat which habe MAPPING 6.2L V8 HEMI Superharged variant that produces 770 horsepower , and it isnt even its top variant SRT Demon bave V8 engine that produces ≈1020 Hp , They are bug fans of Muscles car ouke Shelby , Chevy and Demons , TRUST me they only care about 0-60 thing amd top speed nothing else .. Let me gibe uou just example If you give them car which have Mercedes interior and top speed of 200km/h they its will be too slow for them , they will remove all weight, functionality, EVEN F*ing BACKSEAT and modify them to go over 320 Km/h... Iska kuch nahu ho sakta Bhai log 😂
