Nice video., I'd certainly be in for more about granular. The great thing is that it is more or less a practical version of resynthesis plus sampling finally coming of age at the same time. In theory resynthesis would be even better but it leads to such a flood of information and parameters that you can easily get lost in it. In granular things stay much more focussed while you can still go almost as far. That's what I like about it.

Can you do voice stacking in the sampler device? As a heavy sampler user I've stayed away from the grid sampler because it just seems like a more cumbersome way of doing the same stuff, but I'm curious about voice stacking, neat stuff.

When you say grains (that is more then one), do you actually have severeal playhead whaen stacking voices like this, or is it the same playhead playing different voices? If so you dont really have several grains, but just one, and the illusion of several when you use an lfo to modulate the playheads position.

Voice stacking with modulated playhead is actually several voices with their own dedicated playhead. So you have up to 5 grains in parallel. In Ableton I have Grain Scanner with up to 128 grains tho and also reverse can be randomly applied to some of them in percent.

I guess I'll be that person and point out the obvious. You could just do all this right in the sampler without the Grid.

The 4 x oversampling in the grid makes this sound different (better/smoother) than if you used the regular sampler.

Well it was controversially established in another Audio Digital vid that the Grid is better at 'cycles' mode than the sampler because of oversampling. I wonder if the same is true for 'textures' mode?

Yes you can. The Grid sampler has 4x oversampling, so that is one of the advantages in addition to all the modules you can use with it. But the Sampler device is still amazing and powerful!
