@@mm0umz426 excellent! I have considered having some PCB's made that would basically allow the same thing but in a somewhat more structured format, with power/ground busses and what not, all designed to interconnect. I wonder if there would be any interest?

Hi, how many micro Henries has the coil in series with BFO crystal? no need of trimmer capacitor? thanks

I never measured the inductance of the bfo coil, made adjustments towards the best audio out.using a var cap would be easier.
