Excellent bivy bag. I never had any condensation in it because i put a bottle filled with warm water at the feet in tje sleeping bag, it works fairly well. But it os a matter of weather and conditions too. This is one of my favourite stealth camping gear. Glad you enjoyed it ! Great video.

Great video... I was out last night in mine for the first time, and my set up was virtually identical. And yes, the only bit of condensation I had was at the foot end too, But inside my sleeping bag was bone dry and toasty warm.

Great stuff , I reckon the conditions going from a warm day to fairly cool don’t help with the condensation issues . foot only area is a result 👍 atb Dave

The gear coped well in the changeable conditions Dave. I haven't used a synthetic bag for years either but one advantage, if it does get wet, is that it keeps its insulation. Good stars too. Can't remember the last good night sky camp I had. ATB mate, Chris

I get dampness in my foot box ( Robens mountain bivvy). Sometimes it’s really wet. I was beginning to think the seams were leaking because it’s never damp anywhere else
@BorderRambler Жыл бұрын
I turned mine inside out to inspect and it is heavily taped on the seams, so maybe this location doesn’t breathe as well as the rest of the bivi ?

Nice review of the kit. We got a couple of the Robens Mountain bivvys and a tarp to do the Cleveland Way earlier this year. The weather was appalling and despite pitching the tarp as a tent the bivvys didn't keep out the rain. Given the specs I'd expected better performance from the bags. I love the features that the bag has for size and zip, but have lost all confidence in it for keeping weather out. How did the bag cope on your bike trip?
@BorderRambler Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about your experience with the Robens bivi in the rain , thankfully we didn’t have any rain at all on our bike camping trip so I can’t answer that. atb Dave

Enjoyed the video, that is the one problem with synthetic bags, they are heavier and more bulky than down. But they stay warm when wet. Can you tell what make is the thermometer you use. Thanks

Yes exactly, I suppose it’s down side of synthetic pardon the pun lol , the little thermometer is a cheapo from Amazon - ORIA Bluetooth 5.0 Thermometer Hygrometer, Humidity Temperature Sensor with Big Screen, Indoor Thermometer with App for IOS and Android, Free Data Export for Home, Greenhouse amzn.eu/d/adWrvBd

Just looked at the spec sheet for the sleeping mat,55cm wide is shocking,why do all these companies think us mortals sleep on their backs,i need a 27” wide mat (70cm) but nobody makes one And the couple of companies that do ( trekology) for example,are at the lower end of the market,id gladly pay good money for one that wide with a good r value,sorry robens,no sale from me,when are you big companies going to listen to your customers,such a shame as i really like the sleep mat 😔😔
