The film got released during the 1999 World Cup and got screened in a single-screen theatre in Lucknow. Baadshah and Hum Saath-Saath Hain got released a few months later in the same theatre. I often got confused about whether Baadshah and Hum Saath-Saath Hain got released in the same year since they both premiered at the same two single-screen theatres in Lucknow

The wc in 1999 was in May biwi no 1 released then .i remember going to watch it as. A kid on the same day as the famous India england match which went on for 3 days...hum saath saath hain came in dec...badshash came somewhere in between may be eid ..it wasn't a big hit (badshah)
