Dunning-Kruger effect in full force here. For those trying to learn: A. The Bix-n-Andy "overtravel" is very intentional. They started out in the benchrest world, it helps prevent influencing the rifle during follow through. B. What he's calling a trigger shoe is a trigger hanger. the shoe is the part that sticks out of the gun and you pull to yeet that Berger over the berm.
@PrecisionRifleNetwork5 ай бұрын
Being the guy who just has to say “well technically…” FYI no one likes that guy. A guy can’t make a simple mistake calling a hanger a shoe or whatever? You can’t just overlook that and move on? #petty If what you’re saying about the BA triggers is true, it’s not on their website that I could find. Also it doesn’t really make sense. A full stop at a wall after follow through would induce less potential error than a spongy over travel.
@jimothy-johnson5 ай бұрын
@@PrecisionRifleNetwork He is correct that the overtravel is intentional and that is their reasoning for it. And that many people in the BR community would agree. BnA have said it in a bunch of videos and other stuff. The Tacsport Pro you're showing is being phased out for the Pro-X as well. Which isn't THAT big a change but I do think (?) the Pro-X has an overtravel spring opposing it to cushion it more if I recall right. As far as the creep goes, BnA say if your trigger has any creep something is either defective or the bottom sear hasn't been adjusted (not to be confused with the top sear you were talking about).

FYI - U.S. law prevents them from voiding the warranty merely because you opened to clean it. They can say it does all they want as a scare tactic, but in order to actually enforce, they would have to show that the fact that you opened it caused the issue you are making a warranty claim about (see the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975). As far as how to clean it without opening, I just blast it with chlorine free brake cleaner... works well.

Is that still valid if they’re a Canadian company?
@t3h8ar0n5 ай бұрын
@PrecisionRifleNetwork if the foreign company is purposefully availing themselves in the U.S. (as in, they willingly/actively participate in the U.S. market), then they are subject to it regardless of whether they are a foreign entity or not. If they are a strictly foreign entity, and their products are not officially sold in this market, then it wouldn't apply. It also won't protect non-U.S. consumers.

I've had 3 X tac sport pro 2 stage..the last one was the new.X version. The first one was perfect...lovely .. The second one ..tac sport pro 2 stage...would "click" with a spring noise when trigger pulled and not fire...until the safety was touched.. The Tac Sport Pro X 2 stage did the same. Scary. I followed advice and changed the sear over...same thing happened...only in the field .. This was very dangerous. I ended up with a triggertech green diamond 2 stage... which doesn't come with a bolt release. After 2x bix fails...on 2 different riffles...R700, I appreciate the many layers of safety the triggertech has. I'd prefer to have stayed with bix...but...firing the rifle with the safety after the trigger failed to fire it is a nightmare. The lack of over travel on the triggertech put me off...but...that's probably more of a theoretical thing..no over travel effecting poa etc as trigger hits hard stop... Only prob with triggertech diamond 2 stage ...so far...is that there is no bolt release for R700...this is easy to work around though..with a thin implement to manually push down the bolt release mechanism. I was probably the most unlucky person with the Bix. The first bix still works perfectly....

I own two flavio triggers, two diamond TT, and a Bix'n Andy comp. The BnA is cool cause you can work on it. It sucks because they are always out of stock on the parts. If you buy one and the sear doesn't work, well, good luck getting a sear. The Flavio and the TT just work, right out of the box. No hate to BnA, they just need to keep the parts in stock. Which they've been out since last spring.

Ultrasonic parts cleaner? Would it be useful? I have a triggertech diamond in an AR-10 but I don't have enough rounds through it to be dirty. I have also heard of triggertech failures that I have not experienced.
@PrecisionRifleNetwork4 ай бұрын
that's a fair question. I'm not sure is the answer unfortunately. I'm certain it could clean the trigger, but I'm not sure you want that solution inside your trigger. You'd have to make sure it got completely dried and potentially re-lubricated.

I've had a Bix'n Andy on my Remington 700. It's ver light and crisp. But I noticed difficulties opening the bolt if that trigger is installed. At first I thought it was the ammo. Looked over everything and couldn't find the culprit. Until I changed back to the original trigger. No idea how a trigger could interfere with the opening of the bolt.

did you bend the trigger shoe? Also "creep" is taken out when the sear engagement is set correctly, currently right now you have to much engagement on your bottom sear engagement. Over travel is built in due to not influencing the rifle during recoil, you do not want to pull on to a firm wall.
