Im about to do a build with newports 24v 86lb, and a old town center pod on a bigwater 132. Will post video. Just waiting for iceout. Was going to do bixby but I dont do proprietary batteries unless they milwaukee.

Nice ! I do understand your hesitations with it. Newport makes an awesome set up ! I just decided that I wanted a low profile approach to motor assistance. I really prefer to pedal because I love to get in the outdoors for exercise . So the bixpy to meet is more of a pedal assist . I like the simplicity of the design .

Hello, install similar on my pdl120 using the universal rudder adapter, but using the handle to pull up the rudder with the cable that come with the kayak, do not hold the rudder up due the weight, so when i pull up the rudder and remove my hand to hold it, then always the handle return back. How is in your?

@@usermiamiusa yes the weight is an issue . My set up is pulled down by the weight even though bixpy is light. I have a fix in the works for this and once the snow storms let up in Utah I will get a video posted for it.

What happened to the crossbar for your Boondox? You're going to have problems without it! Too much stress it'll cause cracks! I'm thinking of adding a Newport but I'll use the anchor pole mount so I can use the Kayak without the motor or when the motor is raised.

How did you get the steering control working? I can’t seem to get mine to hold any tension when running new steel cable for the rudder. I installed it the exact same way I pulled the stick cable out but I seem to lose tension on one side and can’t get the rudder to hold position

Did you get the SAI ULTRA RUDDER ASSEMBLY to work with ultra rudder. Want to make sure I get the same setup

In terms of power, is this as strong as Newport nk300 please? Is it possible to install nk300 the same place...?

I have a Topwater PDL too. Like your setup. Wish Bixpy would make the power source more flexible. Just got a $$ 100ah LiFePO4 Bat combined with a side mounted Newport trolling motor. It gets the job done, but the big battery make sure I can run full power for 4 hours +. What's your topspeed by the way?

Nope! I can easily move the rudder in and out of the water .

I do love the set up. I think for the price of the bixpy with the included battery is hard to beat at the price. There are faster motors out there , but most are going to require a large lithium battery and that it’s self is a $1000. So bixpy is a good mid level price range. It has made a difference in how i fish and where I fish. I zoom all over the place now and find myself cranking a lot more to find new fish.

When you reattach the steering, you used a cable. My predator pdl has a cord. I was just wondering if the cable rubbing through plastic was an issue. I’m considering the same setup. Thanks
