This is certainly cool and very well thought out. I don't think I'd go too far off shore with it though because there's not a lot of real estate in case you come across a hungry shark. But I think it would be great for flats, lakes or even river or camping adventures with those telescoping pontoons and all that storage. Love it!!!

Very cool idea but the lack of flotation foam or bulk heads could get you into real trouble if one of the hulls was to fill with water. Guess it would be easy enough to cut and fit your own foam tho.

How big an outboard motor will it handle? It should be able to handle at least a 3.5 hp outboard. It would be a mistake if it won't handle a small outboard motor.

This is nice , would like to see this in a 11.5ft version with pedals. It will be interesting to see what Nativewatercraft do with it as they do own the bi-yak now.

@@KayakDIY I would take the biyak over the bluesky as you can adjust the beam from 33'' to around 48'' or so., honestly it looks good as it is, just a shorter version [11.5ft would be nice ] to make it more manageable off/on water/smaller rivers/cartopping ect and also add some pedals to it.The weight capacity isn't very high on it 350/360lbs i think, but i travel light, don't need everything and the kitchen sink to..lol

Its just another take on the switchboat from NZ. Be worried with open outriggers if they filled with water at sea though. Covers didnt seem too water tight.

Brian B I get your point but that would be hard to paddle.diy floats are easy to make also.the point is you get a reasonable set of rotation molded hulls and all those mounting points,ready to go out of the box,with a warranty

Mount the motor beside the driver or put on a front or side rudder for more comfortable steering. Too much money to have to reach behind to steer!😢

Basic trolling motor in front would do wonders. Then could later upgrade to AutoBoat system and have GPS. I loved BiYAK. They were bought out by Native Watercraft.

I was thinking similar. You could easily rig this so many different ways. Btw it is super cool that you are a bell diver. I just got into diving and love it! I grew up in Iowa so there wasn’t much diving opportunities.

No different really than any other kayak. It felt solid. Had a lot of aluminum structural parts. I really liked it. I think another kayak company bought them out. Possibly wilderness systems....although I don’t remember.

Joan Reyes that is the last comment I expected to see. This thing is incredibly stable. When fully expanded it is like a floating dock. Widest kayak I’m aware of for its length and weight. The expanding deck is so nice. Still paddles very well.
