Ingredients:
- 1 cup of black gram
- 2 cups of whole grain jowar flour
- 1 cup of water
- 1/4 teaspoon methi seeds (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ghee or oil
Instructions:
1. Rinse the jowar whole grain and soak it in water for at least 8 hours or overnight. and Rinse the black gram Soak it in water at least 8 hours or overnight
2. Drain the water and grind the jowar flour into a smooth batter using a grinder or blender in the same blender in black gram batter and grind smooth paste.
3. Add methi seeds and salt to the batter and mix well.
4. Ferment the batter for 8 hours or overnight in a warm place.
5. Heat a non-stick pan or dosa tava over medium heat.
6. Pour a ladle of batter onto the pan and spread it evenly to form a circular layer.
7. Cook the dosa for 1-2 minutes or until the edges start to curl. finely chopped onion and grated carrot and green chilli sprinkle the dosa.
8. Loosen the dosa with a spatula and flip it over.
9. Cook the other side for another minute.
10. Serve the dosa hot with your favorite filling or chutney.
Tips:
- Use a high-quality jowar flour that is fresh and has not been stored for too long.
- Adjust the water ratio according to the consistency of the batter.
- Fermentation time may vary depending on the climate and temperature.
- You can add other ingredients like chopped onions, garlic, or cumin seeds to the batter for extra flavor.
