The death of king Alexander was one of the most unfortunate events in modern Greek history. The Greek royal family used to unconstitutionally meddle with the function of the elected governments. Alexander was considered to be a new kind of king that would uphold the constitution. He was not a puppet king, just a king that would not overstep the constitutional boundaries. That's why he was beloved even by those opposing the monarchy, and that's the reason they accepted him as king although their first choice was to completely abolish the monarchy. And the solution would have worked had he not died.

There's one about a lawyer that liked to show off/prove that the window in his office, on one of the top floors in a high rise building were shatterproof. How did he do this? By ramming into it like when you try to bash into a jammed door. Fair enough, but if the defendant had been convicted he almost certainly would have been hanged giving the time period. Sepsis isn't "blood poisoning", it's your immune system overreacting to an infection. And it doesn't take septic shock (the part that kills you) long to happen once sepsis has begun. It takes hours. The monkey bite was obviously infected from the moment he got it, it did not become infected just hours after getting it. King Alexander had up to 7 medical procedures before his death, and it's likely that at least one of them caused a worse infection, which could have then triggered sepsis. He did not have sepsis the whole time.

Irene 1943 I’m sure he was beloved, but it doesn’t sound like he was too smart. Common sense should tell you that if you’re bitten by a monkey, you should do whatever’s necessary to treat the wounds (including amputation) and not worry about the story being embarrassing. As it is now, he went down in history as the king that died from monkey bites. Which is hilariously funny 🤣

People ask me all the time why it's pronounced wrong (as in, not like violin) but it's from Italian so it's not that viola is pronounced wrong, it's that violin is pronounced wrong.
