I remember finding out about I Robot decades ago and couldn't believe it. Waay ahead of it's time.

Dude, this video was amazing! I hadn’t heard of any of these surprisingly. I, Robot is super interesting since it seems like it would’ve been a slam dunk with its amazing graphics. Nice work on this!

thanks man! this video was a blast to work on, learned quite a bit of good information about that time period. I Robot was kind of like a cult hit with me and by buddies in college when we were just learning about emulation and mame, and we couldnt believe a game that looked that good existed back then. It must have been too far ahead or something when it released because I also figured it would have been a smash hit.

Blaster. AKA the underrated sequel to Robotron that nobody played.

Interesting video, and well presented! I especially admire the developers at the time. Here I am, 40 years later from the 80s using 'Construct 3' to make games and even with this piece of modern software, making games can still be daunting. Imagine programming a game in the 80s! Those devs were absolute masters of skill.

Its pretty fun and I love the art style, but its crazy difficult, maybe worth it to try a high score challenge!

I saw the title of this video in my feed and thought "Yeah, I'm sure I've played them all." I am 55 years old, and thus was a teenager in the early '80s who not only hung out at video arcades, I actually worked at one for two years... and I've never heard of ANY of these games. Well done, sir.

Odd several of these games were my favorite games at one time, i robot, blaster and mystic marathon (along with robotron ) were obsessions at one point.

Lol. I had the misfortune of playing space dungeon. That is without ANY doubt the most difficult game EVER. Digital frustration! I played i robot in oxford. Wonderful game. Real 3d in 1983!intrepid was quite common.

@@dezm101 I dont remember seeing a lot of early arcade stuff as a kid (born in 82). Its like theres a void between the early classics from the late 70s/very early 80s til about 85-86 where we see the Capcoms and Konamis come into their own. Maybe that was just me and the arcades in my area (Chicago South Suburbs/NW Indiana). Im always surprised how a lot of the games from the era look like Apple II games or just games with CGA graphics in general. Im sure a huge part of that came from using similar components to those machines. Id love to see more videos of the lesser known arcade games. Sometimes its hard when looking thru a huge list of MAME games to make a decision so its nice to get some info on the strange and/or unknown classics.

in the late 70s and very early 80s i saw a game in an arcade where you were driving a tank like vehicle with enemies trying to stop you that were also tank like vehicles - the first level you had to get a colored key to open the lock to the next level -- the second level added one more key to the required number of needed keys with each key having a matching colored door --- never could find that game again

I robot failed because the joystick would break easily, and the circuit board was VERY large, also requiring a lot of repairs
