Ya'll have to understand they were young, in love, and juggling fame and money. Plus K-Ci was apart of Jodeci at the time which speaks for itself. The abuse wasn't just K-Ci, Mary was beating on him as well. She has admitted in the past that she was very insecure during their relationship and lacked self-love which is why she was looking for it in K-Ci. Her My Life album reflects heavily on those issues. So glad I never went through this. Young girls with their romantic hopes get slashed; knocked down by some guy. Men who never care or even cared about you. They just blame YOUR heartbreak on YOU and walk away from you as though you were not even there. I have never experienced it but I feel for you ladies. Ten years later, you still actually care about the guy and he never gave you a passing thought; you were apart of his "phase". *Hugs* 😿😖

👍🏽💯👍🏽I have, to the point of learning that I realized that I don't need no man to justify my life, so, I said "f*ck that sh*t," and, I just kept it moving. 😂 You live and you learn. Some things just aren't meant to be. 😘

At that time Mary had cleaned up her image "a bit" so although we can clearly see that see might have wanted to go off, she restrained herself. But you can tell she was pissed.

In 2023, this is still needed to be heard. Without self love, the darkness truly thrives 🗣️

Damn they did some ole school Jerry Springer shit to Mary 1:09 . I can see the hurt on her face. Thats why she is still around making good music. I love her new CD "Stronger with each tear".

They would have been a power couple at that time, but in all reality, there is really no such thing, especially in "Hollyweird." SMH! 😢

No one is perfect in a relationship but K-Ci and the tv host made Mary look like a damn fool on tv. Maybe it was a good thing Mary saw the clip.
