A decade ago tesla and Panasonic built the first EVER gwh scale ev battery plant in Nevada. It cost over $3,000,000,000 in 2016 dollars to build. It broke ground in 2014, opened in late 2016, fully ramped by 2019 and lead the world in gwh cell capacity from a single plant until the end of 2021. When catl thanks again funny enough mostly to tesla who is their single largest customer, was consuming enough lfp to make over 40% of ALL teslas sold powered with catl pack's, plus the megapack bess uses catl cells&now the powerwall 3 home battery to. Catl had also once told Herbert diess to get lost when he asked them to make batteries for their ev plans back in 2010. Fascinating also that the U.S. under obummer sold China the rights to lfp cell tech when it was A123 industries who owned it and built the og fisker karma pack's. 😏
