Crash Team Racing - Nitrous Oxide (Final Boss)

This is me playing Crash Team Racing for the Playstation. This game is probably the best cart racing game I've played. But that aside, I figured I'd upload the boss races as I do them. The final boss of the game is Nitrous Oxide himself. This is the second time you have to race him, I found recording the first race too pointless. In fact, I didn't bother challenging him until I got all the relics (as you can see from the beginning).
The race itself only starts out hard. As long as Oxide is in front of you, you're going to get destroyed by his cheating tactics. Once you get in front of him, it's a cake walk. My advice is to restart until you get in front of him on the first lap.
And to put an end to the idiot rumor. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN PLAY AS NITROUS OXIDE IS USING A GAMESHARK. There's no other way, beating his ghosts in time trial DOES NOT let you play as him, I've done this.
Note: These boss vidoes were done on my first try. If you notice, once you beat the 4th race of a world, the boss confronts you BEFORE you race him once, which is what I have in the video. So don't comment that you think you're so much better or that I suck at the game just because I happen to have a bad run. If you're much better, upload a video, otherwise you're probably either lying or just stupid.

To be fair, I’ve never beaten this race once legitimately. I’ve only beat it by doing the jump that skips the whole outside part, and I beat it the first time at 7 in 2000. Fuck Oxide lol

kostas o flou I remember on the first day of 7th grade on August 10, 2010 when I got home. CTR was expected to release that day on the PS Store so I camped in front of my tv in the PSOne Classics section for maybe about 3 hours until it finally appeared and I bought it and transferred it to my PSP. I have the original PSOne disc but I apparently bit off a piece when I was two, the disc belonged to my brothers. So it only worked a number of times on the PS2, that never stopped me from playing it. I would reset the PS2 for literally 20 times until it worked, I rarely gave up on it. Man, that game made my childhood what it is today.

same, evry time i hear that sound when you start the game i almost start crying... its just too much memorys i wish disc didn't stop working because i think i would spend hole day playing but i remember that i wasnt been able to play adventure but still i cant get over this game... I reacently found out that afther Crash Team Racing Noughy Dog stopped working on it but thoes other companys did good work on it too but game wasnt the same as it was in 1996 when first CrashBandicoot came out. There's no end to the amount of screaming I did as a kid trying to finish this race. Amazing job man, you make it all look so easy. You might say it's all a cakewalk after you get in front of him, but goddamn. If you let up on that boost for a split second, he's going to gain up on you.

Crash has been sent to yet another developer supervised by Activision known as Blizzard. Blizzard is currently working on making a choice in which direction to send the series in so I wouldn't say Crash is flat out gone. He is just in temporary gaming hibernation and it's going to take a while until we see a new game. Maybe you could find some fan games. I found one called Crash Tiki Quest online. It's a pretty good one.

Oh God. I remember being so scared of this guy and I didnt want to get a game over at any means possible. So I took a break in the story mode and time attacked the shit out of this track. Eventually I beat Oxide in time attack. And I was still scared of him in the story but I was sure they wouldnt make the story boss harder than the time attack ghost. One mask later I was in the lead. I had gotten used to the racing line of Oxide Station and I was sure he'd follow it as well so I dropped every last weapon I had into that path. He was about half a lap behind me when I finished the race. Which also ended up with none of my friends wanting to play this game against me anymore . :D

Aaah, that awesome feeling of constant vibrations from the Dual Shock, constant power slide boosts... Naughty Dog's Crash games filled my childhood from when I was 7 y-o (1st grade elementary school) up to 12 (6th grade - yes I'm from Asia; 6 yrs elementary school, 3 yrs of junior high and 3 yrs of senior high). I remember how intimidating Crash 1's difficulty was compared to 2 and 3. Tried playing CTR a year back (the 19 y-o me), I think I've lost my touch... sad. I'm gonna pick up an emulator and play Naughty Dog's Crash games again one of these days.

CTR is actually way more fun than mario cart. the level design are way more creative and more fun to play the other racers since you see most of them in previous games. I feel more attach to CTR characters than Mario characters. feels like I have to pick a racer to play but I'm not that attach to any of the mario characters. no favorites to feel excited to race as unlike CTR.

Use this control scheme: Z - Square button X - X button S - Triangle button D - O button A & Q - L1 and L2 button (respectively) F & R - R1 and R2 button (respectively) Arrow keys - D-pad Now put your middle finger on the X key, and your ring and index finger on the A key and F key respectively. You should now be able to perform a drift-boost with ease, and you'll also have no trouble reaching for the O button ("D" key). Hope this helps. ;-)

Wow, in high quality you can hear the high-pitch sound of your television. I liked N. Oxide very much. I don't like how Sierra or Vicarious Visions or whoever changed N. Oxide's head. In CNK his head is smaller and only has one tube sticking out. Anyway, N. Oxide looked like he was slower than the other bosses in that race actually. Good job racing against him. I remember being just jaw-dropped shocked when I finally got to race him for the last time.

Loved this game. I remember that if you manage to avoid all the nitros and chemicals Oxide chucks at you, then what happens is you see Oxide directlt in front of you... but yer 1st! Meaning you'll be one lap ahead of him LOOL. But that happened when I replayed the whole game a good couple of times.
