Thank you very much Dr Cronje. It is white people like you that South Africa needs. Pure understanding of where we come from, where we are and where we might be heading. I strongly support your research findings, black South Africans are not anti white, power hungry people spread this notion. Black South Africans have embraced racial differences, the said reality like you said, rural South Africans have that connection to the ANC which they will never just let go, and they every right to love the ANC. However there are many people my age who don't relate to the ANC and want to see better government. Your findings echo 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

How can he defend the system when all political parties in parliament gets millions in government funding paid by taxpayers whether they vote for the parties or not whether taxpayers like it or not? For 30 years parties gets the millions in government funding without having anything to show for it. They have allowed the ruling party to loot SA and they are supporting the SDG's of UNelected international organization UN, excuse the pUN agenda2030 and agenda21

It's very noticeable the anc has run out of money. Posters are mainly up in the rural areas. Hardly see any in the cities. Anc is banking on rural votes. Opposition parties need to show their faces and spread their voices there as well.

Some causes for hope: 1. We have a functioning political system, meaning that elections are substantially fair and the results reflect the voters wishes. 2. Organized big business is becoming more outspoken about the governments poor economic policies. 3. We have a substantially free press and freedom of expression. 4. The state has become too weak to enforce some of its more stupid ideas e.g. NHI.

Coalition politics and governance will be the outcomes of the next elections.As for the multi party charter whose main aim is to outst the ANC will see service delivery suffer.The ANC has messed up big time.When one talks about South Africa being the most unequal country in the world..this should imply that coloureds indians are so heavily marginalised is as if they dont exist.Any country organisation institution corporation can be legitimately judged by how minorities are treated.

The arguments for Eskom and Transnet being privatized is not what South Africans need. Yes, we are now getting power and transport restored, but at what cost, as the private market will increase the prices? Unless Eskom and Transnet places a Cap on profits. Government should produce cheap electricity and cheap transport, not charge an upfront fee for the private sector to try and profit.

Much needed perspective. I'm so tired of opposition party campaigns and the media framing this coming election as if it hangs on a knife edge and depending on which way it falls our country will either go on to true reform or become irretrievably lost. It may do but that is not a guarantee and we shouldn't miss the woods for the trees.

Not sure Hermanus which is perhaps the victim of its own success, appeals. But what Frans Cronje is saying certainly does. The fragmentation of our country he mentions bubbles beneath every public denial and media propaganda message. South Africans really have to rev up to be enthusiastic about national stuff .. only the springboks get that. As communities become more clearly identified and cooperation is seen as an advantage, I think we’ll see some interesting changes in our social political and economic lifestyles. I like what this man is not saying. 🤔

Yes, nothing had changed since legalised piracy of first Joint stock company, 400 years ago such as the Dutch East Indian company (VOC); East Indian Company, De Beers and Anglo American that colonised and formed brutal monopolies. I like the cheekiness: we can extract favourable trade agreements by extorting and exploiting the geographic position of Cape of Good hope from the USA and the Chinese.

Exactly, anything goes! Private security = mafia-style pay for protection. The object of a Police Service is that Every citizen, regardless of their creed and means, are served by SAPS without fear nor favour. If all the corrupt capital was diverted away from Private Security Mafia-style operations and ploughed into SAPS, there might be something to be proud of. Men and Women who are bound to serve by a common Oath, not incentivised by Profit! Sure, private security has its place BUT venturing into the public protection and roles bordering on National key points, that is a stretch too far. There is a desparate need, regardless of current circumstances, for State Run services. The Liberal approach is to ensure that the State coffers divert funds from the Nation into a few private hands.
@HarmonicRezolution
@HarmonicRezolution 8 ай бұрын
I think it's a bit naive to think of people serving their country, not profit, when we live in such a non-homogenous country. About the only thing where we see eye to eye is rugby and making money for oneself. Profit is merely the ability to take care of your family, or pay your own rent, or afford a girlfriend. That is glue. The sad truth is that people do not put massive personal effort in unless there is a personal incentive. A shared incentive is enjoyed by the lazy, not the hard workers, who quickly become lazy when they find no personal benefit from their personal sacrifice while the lazy enjoy their fruits of labour.

Good to have a refreshingly optimistic take about our beloved country. However, the potential downside of him being wrong is great, dire in fact. A talk like this tends to placate the discerning among us, lulling ppl into the sense that "everything will be OK". Just look at the looting that took place in KZN 2 years ago. Imagine that on a more national scale or even half of that? For anyone considering his talk, consider this, what is the cost of what he is saying being wrong?

What's your views on system change. There's an option vote for system change to a directelections system where we can elect our leaders individually making parties irrelevant. There are new parties not small parties with fresh new and current ideas. This is what SA desperately needs right now. The political system is not working. Ot may be working for those who benefit from it. It doesn't work for everyone though.

The roll of the government becomes irrelevant and will have to aggresively oppose all private initiatives with laws and new laws and by laws, in order to stay in power, resulting in making citizens the enemy of the state.That prepares the table for conflict.

High energy input costs regulations and destructive policys are putting strain on the economy The way i see it is the banks are in very bad place if money creation expands poor people will struggel to keep up with inflasion If banks keep tight the economy will slow leading to mass insolvencyś The policy makers act in hinde sight this time they will respond when it is to late they also risk the era they expanded created bubbels in asset prices if this is marked to market the banks cannot trust the colateral on their books wich makes for very intresting times Hungry poor people will not be of moderate opinion

I'm sure Mr. Cronje's audience is reassured by what he has to say but this made me nauseous. The "privatized" South Africa he's describing would be a barren landscape of inescapable hellscape of slavery for the poor.

The arrogance and conceit of a well formed argument you gonna hope to get these outcomes vs what is coming to you Great adversity is coming to this country from which the leaders will come to give birth to a more permanent system

I just wish Frans would wait until after his speach to eat all the free snacks and then burp and swallow indigestion all the way through...

Biased, Dr Cronje. I suggest that Dr. Cronje must go learn leadership and possibly gain some political insights about South African majority voter, from the unbiased, and straight talker, Mr. Wiese. Mr Wiese is a very relevant person whom Dr. Cronje can learn politics and how to tell the truth. I consider Mr. Wiese a true living library that the majority of polititians in South Africa could learn and gain some insights to be utilized for crafting our country's policies directions.
