Thank you very much Dr Cronje. It is white people like you that South Africa needs. Pure understanding of where we come from, where we are and where we might be heading. I strongly support your research findings, black South Africans are not anti white, power hungry people spread this notion. Black South Africans have embraced racial differences, the said reality like you said, rural South Africans have that connection to the ANC which they will never just let go, and they every right to love the ANC. However there are many people my age who don't relate to the ANC and want to see better government. Your findings echo 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

Some causes for hope: 1. We have a functioning political system, meaning that elections are substantially fair and the results reflect the voters wishes. 2. Organized big business is becoming more outspoken about the governments poor economic policies. 3. We have a substantially free press and freedom of expression. 4. The state has become too weak to enforce some of its more stupid ideas e.g. NHI.

The arguments for Eskom and Transnet being privatized is not what South Africans need. Yes, we are now getting power and transport restored, but at what cost, as the private market will increase the prices? Unless Eskom and Transnet places a Cap on profits. Government should produce cheap electricity and cheap transport, not charge an upfront fee for the private sector to try and profit.

Not sure Hermanus which is perhaps the victim of its own success, appeals. But what Frans Cronje is saying certainly does. The fragmentation of our country he mentions bubbles beneath every public denial and media propaganda message. South Africans really have to rev up to be enthusiastic about national stuff .. only the springboks get that. As communities become more clearly identified and cooperation is seen as an advantage, I think we’ll see some interesting changes in our social political and economic lifestyles. Exactly, anything goes! Private security = mafia-style pay for protection. The object of a Police Service is that Every citizen, regardless of their creed and means, are served by SAPS without fear nor favour. If all the corrupt capital was diverted away from Private Security Mafia-style operations and ploughed into SAPS, there might be something to be proud of. Men and Women who are bound to serve by a common Oath, not incentivised by Profit! Sure, private security has its place BUT venturing into the public protection and roles bordering on National key points, that is a stretch too far. There is a desparate need, regardless of current circumstances, for State Run services. The Liberal approach is to ensure that the State coffers divert funds from the Nation into a few private hands.
@HarmonicRezolution8 ай бұрын
I think it's a bit naive to think of people serving their country, not profit, when we live in such a non-homogenous country. About the only thing where we see eye to eye is rugby and making money for oneself. Profit is merely the ability to take care of your family, or pay your own rent, or afford a girlfriend. That is glue. The sad truth is that people do not put massive personal effort in unless there is a personal incentive. A shared incentive is enjoyed by the lazy, not the hard workers, who quickly become lazy when they find no personal benefit from their personal sacrifice while the lazy enjoy their fruits of labour.
