The solution is to have all representatives in all legislature at local, council, and national level be directly elected by the voters, individually, not through parties. Instead of voting for the party and the party choosing who to represent them. Let the mayor be elected by the electorate directly and be accountable to the voters, and not be at the mercy of political manipulation of the warring parties. These parties are more interested in their party interests than the needs of the electorate! They are holding service delivery to ransom!

She is so right. This way markets are portrayed in media is one of the most important things in SA at the moment. Many popular media personalities and main stream media sarcastically refers to the markets. People need to be made aware what the impacts of good markets will have on them. Better markets = better rand, less inflation, better interest rates = people save money on everything. Those people have more money to spend and when they spend it it creates more jobs to fill the demand! Over and above that the country lends money at a lower rate which means they have more money to spend on infrastructure and services for the people including social welfare etc. Cheaper food, cheaper fuel prices....the list goes on and on and we are not even talking about the snowball effect this could have. Who does not want that!? There are too many media personalities that are making light of the markets means for people or even demonizing it. They are doing the people a great disservice.

Do you know that Mayor Cilliers Brink was collaborating with the National Department of Water and Sanitation regarding the water quality crisis in Hammanskraal? For the first time in nearly twenty years, there is now, thanks to this Mayor, a credible and workable plan to have clean drinking water flowing out of the taps of Hammanskraal by as early as October this year!! ( Phase 1 is almost complete) This was unimaginable only a year ago!!

ASA and FF have turned against the DA because they lost significant voter share to the DA in the recent elections. In addition ASA feel betrayed by the DA for joining the GNU and Mashaba's initial stance of never cooperating with the ANC cost his snr party officials lucrative government positions. Consequently I believe both have been advised by their strategists to differentiate themselves from the DA and end all previous cooperation agreements so as to improve their chances in the 2026 elections. I think both have erred and will fail spectacularly in said elections.
