Most of us did and were inspired to wanna drive a truck, or was I the only one, I started in 1985 driving an old 1980 cab over powersteering was by air when a/c was two little fans on the dash some trucks had them mounted on the ceiling now talk about luxury ,drivers will complain if there blinker don't work or don't know how to change the flasher , or change a taillight I used to look how the hell do I get the bulb out lol

Also loved BJ and the Bear but would also say that the movie Convoy would have been my main inspiration to want to be a trucker. Sadly only made it to be a biker, not enough wheels though!

Nice KW truck very well maintained. The K100 was the best truck ever made, the aerodyne cab. cannot be beat. If i was to put it on Australian roads you would have to narrow the gap between the back of the cab and the front of the trailer to less than a meter due to length limits & the spread bogie trailer would have to be closed up as they are illegal in Oz as they cause too much road damage. I am surprised they are not banned in the USA. Here they both had the same weight limit 16.5 tonnes.
@espeescotty11 жыл бұрын
Oh, ok. That one I can't answer. What is clear though is that the axles wheelbase is locked at that distance, but I don't know if the whole bogey can be slid forward and back.

I've got a buddy somewhere that had a BJ rig and swapped/sold/traded for a conventional and Chrome Shop Mafia tricked it. It was the Grave Digger because his last name was Graves. Last count he was a maintenance man in a big hotel in a city. I think he kept the truck but who knows. Haven't heard of him in years. Hope all is well and Thanks, Scotty. A nice ride 4 sure!

Why chasis is very long, i remember this truck was short 🤔
@espeescotty Жыл бұрын
It is a modern take on an old classic. Many modern trucks have stretched frames now for a variety of reasons. Some owners like the looks of longer trucks, some stretch them for hauling long overhanging loads. Longer trucks generally ride smoother than short trucks.

sure would look a whole lot better if the douche would've not messed with the wheelbase...cabovers shouldn't be stretched EVER!...I know they were feeling left out n all cause its somewhat cool to stretch the frames..(I could do w/out it tbh)...besides that 10 -12 ft space back there creates serious drag...it doesn't look cool enough to be worth spending more $$$ on gas..
@justpassinby63838 жыл бұрын
Well back then there were more cabovers on the road and 45' flat bed trailers and many were used hauling construction materials so the need for long wheel base came in handy , to many its the looks, the ride, show n tell @ the truck show

The trailer is wrong. BJ’s had the red and the white stripe going around the barn doors. The doors on this truck are too modern.
@espeescotty2 жыл бұрын
True, but this is a modern working truck, not a strict tribute truck. The tractor's wheelbase is longer in addition to the trailer being 53' vs. 40'. No one can make money hauling with a 40' reefer in today's setting. This is like what BJ's truck would be in the 21st century.
